For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Greetings everyone! It’s a warmer day today and the whole weekend coming up is supposed to be nice before dropping back to more normal fall temperatures once again. It could actually reach a high of 73F (23C) today, with a mix of sun and clouds. Muffin and I enjoyed some time out on the balcony this morning until this rather large wasp showed up and wouldn’t leave us alone.
Muffin agreed it was time to go back inside. We’ll try again later. The sun is low enough in the sky now that the sun actually shines right on my balcony chair, which makes it very nice to sit out there. My friend and I went on another trip down the highway on Tuesday and I was able to get some nice photos.

A Birch leaf lying on the dry grass.
Not as many as I had hoped though. The insects were not very active due to the rather cool temperatures that day. It might have been better to go in the afternoon, instead of the morning. Oh well, too late now.

A Bearberry leaf in bright red showing the veins of the leaf so nicely.
I did miss two really nice looking insects that I know are not in my collection yet, but they both got away from me unfortunately. Today I will share a couple of cool fall leaves with you. Have a great day everyone and God bless!

Steve, thank you for sharing some of your walk through this photos. They offer a contrast as summer slowly moderates in favor of the coming autumn season.

Glad to see you enjoyed the photos Richard! I was surprised to see so many trees starting to turn yellow all along our drive down the highway. That’s early even for us! Yep, we are in that transition period now where cooler weather will arrive and stay with us, but bringing the cheerfulness of colors with it. Have a great day and God bless!ππΊπ·ππ
