The Investigators, Inc. The Case of Papa Levi. Chapter 10. Treasure Hunting.

While everyone at the chateau was busy getting things back to normal once again, Kat and Jennifer had sent the Black Wolves to look for the remainder of that hidden gold. The team had figured out the code written on the back of the emerald, mainly with the help of Aurora and Sapphire, our two girls from Russia. So the Black Wolves knew where to look for the gold, if it was still hidden at that spot. Misty and her team were along too, but staying out of sight since they were only along as backup if they were needed to help in a fight.

After all, another gang may have found this gold already. But, unless they just found it, then likely it would be long gone by now. The sight was an old abandoned farm house where the gold had been “buried” in an old, dry and shallow well. Possibly it had been deeper at one time and was either filled in partially, or it had caved in. But, I guess it made a handy and quick place to hide the gold. As the Wolves approached the place where this old house was located, they suddenly stopped when they saw a sign.

So, only Aari, and his “wife” Carine, continued from that point. They drove into the sight of a construction area. The man in charge came over to talk with them, but he could not speak English very well, so Carine spoke with him. As you may remember, Carine is French and once lived in Paris where she found me at a time when my memory was gone due to the “nowhere drug” I had been given.

Anyway, Carine talked with the man as though she and her “husband” Aari were looking for a place to live, but obviously this building would not be ready for some time. The man said it would be finished by March of next year and it would have 60 flats available. Then she related to him something that her husband once told her about an apartment building that was being built in the US and they found the remains of an old fort when they were digging out the foundation.

So she asked if they had ever found anything, perhaps an old castle or remains from Vikings. He laughed and said no, but since his boss wasn’t there right now, he told them they had found a metal box full of gold bars. Carine acted very impressed and excited and asked if they were allowed to keep it, or would they have to hand it in to the police. He said it was necessary to give it to the police and apparently it was part of a gold shipment stolen about 17 years ago.

Carine showed a lot of excitement over this news and told Aari all about it. Then Carine got the necessary information about who to contact for renting or buying a flat, then the two of them left. They went back to the rest of the Black Wolves and everyone groaned upon hearing the news. However, there was still the matter of the stolen jewels and the location for their hiding spot was not far away from here, but they needed to head further east.

Off they went and Carine communicated with Kitty the sad news about the gold, but now they were after the jewels. So, Misty and her team followed about an hour behind them. Meanwhile, back to us at the chateau. Sherry and Celestine are still at it with their “medical experiment” getting all the girls to kiss me when they come to visit. They keep hoping that one of them will wake me up so they can prove to Samantha that a kiss works to wake me up.

Even Samantha participated in the experiment, though she was very embarrassed when Jennifer caught her. “Well, not including us or Samantha and Jennifer,” said Sherry, “we have 8 girls try our medical experiment so far.” “Yep, this is exciting,” said Celestine, “providing Jennifer doesn’t catch us again, otherwise our punishment might be a bit more severe next time.” “Don’t worry,” said Sherry, “if it works and Steve wakes up, Jennifer will forget all about it. Besides, she won’t give us a serious punishment anyway for something like this.”

“I hope you’re right,” said Celestine, “I’m worried about Steve, he should have been awake a long time ago.” “You? You are worried?” asked Sherry, “I didn’t think you worried about things.” “I don’t worry about things,” said Celestine, “but this is different, this is Steve.” She started to cry. “Hey, I’m sorry,” said Sherry, “I didn’t realize.” “Please don’t say anything,” she said, “if Jennifer found out I would be thrown off the team and that would devastate me.”

“Yeah, you might be right,” said Sherry, “but don’t worry, I won’t say a word. Hey, we need a snack.” “We can’t leave the room, remember?” Celestine reminded her. “Cristy, you still awake?” asked Sherry. “Just heading to bed now,” she said, “what would you like?” “Celestine and I need a snack,” she said, “and we’re not allowed to leave Steve until morning.” “I heard you were being punished,” she said giggling, “but if I get caught, then I will be punished too.”

“You’re the best sneaker there is,” said Sherry, “you won’t get caught.” In a little while Cristy showed up with juice and 3 slices of pie, plus some cookies. “I decided to join you,” giggled Cristy. “I knew you were the best,” said Sherry. “It wasn’t easy getting past Jennifer and Kat in the library,” said Cristy, “I’m actually surprised they never saw me.” “Yes, so am I”. “Now you know that Cristy and Misty are the best sneakers anywhere,” said Sherry, “and…wait, that wasn’t your voice.”

The girls turned and there was Jennifer, sitting in a chair looking at them smiling. Jennifer then explained which rules the girls had broken and the demerits associated with each, giving each of the girls 6 demerits. Plus they all had to stay with me until noon tomorrow, without falling asleep, or waking up Jennifer who was going to sleep in the room with me. The girls sighed.

Meanwhile, back with the Black Wolves searching for those jewels. This time things looked more promising, except for one slight problem. There appeared to be people living in this house now and it had obviously been renovated at some point. However, they saw something behind the house…
