For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! Happy International Zebra Day! Yep, that’s today. Who knew they had their own day? Of course, by the time many of you read this, the day will be over. But I wasn’t here earlier. Well, I was here, but not here, meaning not on my blog. I was home doing things. Though sometimes I think I should stop doing things. It would be easier. And less messy. It was a nice sunny day with a strong south wind today.
The temperature warmed up quite nicely too, compared to what we had before. The daytime high was 15F (about -9C). It hasn’t been that warm for a long time. And it’s supposed to stay milder for the next couple of weeks. If their forecast is correct. The end of January. It always feels like the longest month of the year. Probably because it’s the coldest month of the year. Normally.

Speaking of eggs. I sometimes have a hard time cracking them open, nicely. Usually they kind of just break apart and the yolk breaks which ruins my fried eggs. Some people can crack open an egg perfectly with one hand. I tried that. All that happened was the egg smushed in my hand. And all over the stove. I don’t think one drop went in the frying pan. Sigh. And I would always get egg shells mixed in there too, giving a nice crunch to my eggs.

So, I first cracked them into a small bowl. Perfect. I was baking that time and needed two eggs. I reached for the second egg and as I was bringing my arm back, I knocked the bowl off the counter. It landed on my toe. The egg went on my foot. It could have landed on the floor which is much bigger than my foot, but no, it landed on my foot. Speaking of socks. The other day…first let me explain something, when I say “the other day”, it could mean 2 days ago, or 2 years ago, or any time in between the two.

I call it my two, two, two principle. Yeah, I’m strange. But I needed some kind of explanation to make sense of what I’m saying. Now, what was I saying? Oh yes, socks. The other day (see explanation above) it was close to my bed time so I decided to take off my socks and put on my slippers. I was sitting in my recliner, using my laptop, which sits on a small table.
I pushed the table away. Apparently not far enough. When I bent over I hit my head on the edge of the table. It hurt. For a long time. Oddly enough no bruising showed up. I’m probably the only person who can hurt his head by taking off his socks. Sigh. The last day of January. Nice! I wonder what the groundhogs will say on Monday? They always say the same thing, which is nothing, they can’t talk. HAHAHAHA! Sorry, I couldn’t resist. It’s been one of those days. Have a great weekend everyone and God bless!

Love the stories of life. I laughed when the bowl hit your toe. Yes the floor is bigger. π€£ππ

Yep, if anything falls, it will always land on my foot, toe, leg, then maybe a little spill over onto the floor. π Glad you enjoyed this Mr. Ohh, more will be coming your way! Or, my way your way, or something. π€π

Are you sure you weren’t writing about me. I have experienced days that felt much like yours. π

Thanks, nice to know I’m not the only one. These kind of things happen to me on a regular basis, just comes naturally to me. ππ

Blessings Steve. Your reflections remind me that I am sometimes as fragile as that egg shell. Thank goodness I avoid doing too many things with just one and while the other takes a more independent route. Have a great week.
