Here we are waiting for another case to come our way. Everyone wants another case so we can get out and be active again. Sometimes, though, we need to be more careful what we wish for, not all cases are good for us. Friskie told Jennifer and I about her secret that she had told Steffie, and she was right, she should have told us first. Jennifer looked at me. “You will have to make an announcement about this Steve,” she said, “otherwise everyone is going to spend all their free time trying to figure out what this secret is, so do that today.”

“But, everyone will know,” said Friskie with a worried look. “Better to find out now from Steve,” said Jennifer, “than to find out from Steffie later.” “Maybe we should wait a day or two though,” I said, “until everyone is out of the clinic.” “Right, I agree with Steve!” said Friskie emphatically. “Just a minute,” said Jennifer quietly, “keep talking though.” I was still in the clinic at this time. Jennifer went invisible, obviously someone was listening outside the door again. Steffie was here visiting again too.

Suddenly, outside the door… “AAAAAAA!!!!!, and then… “YAAAAA!!!!”, and there was a thud. I thought Jennifer would know by now, but guess not. Jennifer and Misty came inside the room. “It’s okay Steffie,” I said, “it’s just Auntie Misty again.” Steffie comes out from under the blanket again. “You always scare me with yelling!” she said, as she sat with arms folded and frowning at the two of them. Some time later, after Kat had checked me out thoroughly and made some changes to me, I was feeling much better.

“You should be okay now,” said Kat smiling. “I sure hope so sis,” said Jennifer, “it would be nice not having to worry about Steve all the time.” “Well, you can stop your worrying now,” said Kat, “he’s back to normal again, even better actually.” “Good thing you added the word ‘better’,” said Jennifer, “or I would have to start worrying again.” Soon all of us were out of the clinic, though some of the girls were still not cleared for going on cases yet. But, we don’t have a case right now anyway.

But maybe I shouldn’t speak too soon. One morning several of the girls had the younger children outside for some play time so I decided to go outside and join them for a while. All of the cats were outside with us as well and we were having a great time. That is, until something happened. Suddenly several armed men showed up and one of them quickly grabbed Steffie and put a gun to her head. I wish I had the ability to make guns red hot like our ghosts, but I don’t. The next thing that happened was we were all shot with some type of sleeping dart, even some of the cats.

Oddly, no one in the chateau noticed anything wrong outside, and our electronic surveillance hasn’t been working for the last couple of days. We always seem to have trouble with that. Suddenly the alarm went off when the cats pressed their alarm buttons! Code Red, Attack! This kept repeating while the team came rushing out to look for us, ghosts leading the way. The cats met everyone and began telling what happened.

The ghosts went to the spot and picked up the children that had been left behind, only Steffie had been taken, along with me, Dawn, Milena, Macy, Jackie, Valeria, Brandy, Celestine, Ivy and Catalina. Also four of the cats, Storm, Jewel, Ginger and Sir Night. I’m not sure why they took so many of us, but I guess they have their reason and will let us know eventually. Perhaps they want us to do something for them, that would explain taking Steffie, they can use her to pressure us into working for them. My idea was almost correct, but not quite, as we shall see.

Somewhat later at the chateau a car drove up with a lone occupant. The man got out of the car and was told to give his name and nature of his business. He said his name was Jeremy Copeland and he needed help rescuing some friends of his. He was allowed to come in after being thoroughly checked for weapons. He seemed like a very nice and polite gentleman in his early 40s, an American and his friends had gone missing while on vacation in Mexico. They are now being held against their will.

“We would like to help you Mr. Copeland,” said Kat, “but we already have a case that we are presently working on and that leaves us no time to help you.” “I think you will want to change your mind,” he said, “here, take a look at this bracelet.” He handed it to Kat and she recognized it right away. “So, you’re the kidnapper of our team and the little girl who was wearing this bracelet,” said Kat calmly. “Kidnapping is such a bad word,” he said, “we are just giving them a change of scenery for a while. They are being well cared for, I promise you.”

“And what makes you think I will let you go?” asked Kat. “Because if you kept me,” he said, “then your friends would be killed, one each day, until I am allowed to leave. If you work for us, then we look after your friends and they will be returned to you when the job is done.” “What, exactly, is the job?” asked Kat. “I have some friends in a Mexican prison, Anthony, Stanley and Herbert Rowland, three brothers. Plus Eugene Rainer,” he said, “and I want them out within the next 8 days. I know you have done this sort of thing before, so you shouldn’t have any difficulty.”

“I can’t make the decision myself,” said Kat, “we need to have a meeting of our team leaders first. I can let you know later today.” “Very well,” he said, “this is the hotel where I’m staying, you can reach me there.” He then got up and Kat said to let him leave, which he did…

  3. Well, that’s a start. If you wait long enough they’ll be full grown and take repotting better . You never struck me as the not moving kinda person.

    • That’s a good point.
      That’s a good point. Actually, I move a lot, though not anymore. However, other moving I do a lot, and still do, except when I’m not, like right now. Or when I’m roasting in the sun. Or when I’m sleeping. Oh wait, I move a lot then too, though if I moved less i would sleep more which would be good. Sigh.
      Guess it’s time for bed, or nearly so, time to turn off the screen anyway, then go to bed. Anyway, have a good night! I shall return on the morrow tomorrow with more indescribably interesting news! 😃🌛😴

    • Nope. Had the bag of soil in the kitchen where I was repotting before. Picked up bag. Dropped bag. Spilled soil all over floor. Decided to repot plants in kitchen. Sigh. 🙄

  15. I am home. And… I am exhausted 😩 I’ve been up since 3:30 this morning. I’m not sure why, but I woke up around 3 and was wide awake! So now I’m paying the price for that!
    Nice to hear youve passed over into equatorial region finally!😂

    • Even though I like the heat, for some reason it’s really affecting me in a negative way today. I have been drinking constantly since I got up this morning, trying to stay hydrated, but I have a headache, worn out and at times it’s hard to breathe.
      That’s kind of early to get up, maybe you were just excited about flying today.

  16. Maybe a part of it. I’ve been trying to reduce one of my nighttime meds to hopefully get away from it completely so I think that’s a part also. Best be careful in the heat with your breathing . The heat can be hard on you if you’re not acclimated to it.

    • Yeah, we went from such cold weather to this heat rather fast, that’s likely my problem. Two more hot days then it cools down slightly.
      Yep, changing meds can definitely do it, have to do it slowly so it doesn’t affect you too much.

  17. Yep, I’ve been going every other night with it, but last night was a bit of an anomaly. Oh well, no one said it was easily done. I’ve been taking them for years…

    • Well, I planted those baby plants today, plus repotted another one. That means I only have 3 more plants to repot, one small, one large, one extra large (though I need to buy a big enough pot for that one). Then I did Stupid Steve’s Project #197…😃

    • I didn’t tell you about it yet, that other one was project 194, this is 197, you’re behind time. I ordered an end table which had to be put together, which I did today. It matches one I bought a while back. Made from bamboo. It’s on wheels too which makes it easy for me to move around when necessary. I’m glad you asked. 😊🙄

    • Well, actually, this table is for my printer which is sitting on a TV table right now, but that’s a bit awkward to move around. Can’t lift it, can’t drag it, so this will be better.

    • My TV is in the TV cabinet, why would I keep it on a TV table? Very oddly named tables really. My neighbor is on her balcony yelling at all the people walking by that she knows, which is half the town it seems. Sigh. And I want to go to bed. Double sigh. At least it’s cooler in the bedroom, by one degree, but cooler is cooler. I have a headache. Triple sigh.

    • I’m not sure, I feel kind of strange, hard to explain. I have a headache, feel worn out, shaky and for a while I was actually shivering and cold in this heat! My PSW’s didn’t like that, so they are checking on me several extra times today. It could be heat exhaustion, though I’m sure it’s not heat stroke. I probably should be drinking more and eating better.

    • Nope, just fans, and the temperature in here is about the same as outside. We should hit 95 again tomorrow, then it will cool down to mid to upper 80s for next week.

    • I already tried the shower idea, felt good at first, then my stomach started feeling very upset, so I stopped. I also got very shaky, which I didn’t like.

    • Nope, didn’t do much of anything today except for making the church bulletin for tomorrow. No energy to do anything. Oh, I did move that new end table in place and put the printer on it. Looks much better now.

    • It wasn’t a TV stand, it was a TV table, though why it’s called that I have no idea since it’s not for TVs it’s to eat on. I always thought dishes worked better though.

    • Almost had to make a trip to the ER this afternoon, was feeling worse than yesterday, still very hot in here. However, the PSW’s are checking on me about every 90 minutes. Getting cooler tonight so that will help a lot, but tomorrow is hot again. Starts to cool down a bit on Tuesday.

    • Just kind of sat here with my laptop, had a nap. Didn’t make it to church today. Supposed to drop down to 60 tonight, then 85 tomorrow. A cool night will cool the apartment so tomorrow should be easier. I have such a bad headache right now, I’m nauseated, weak, feel awful really. However, I can already feel cooler air coming in the window. My PSW said she could feel it was incredibly hot in here this evening. She will be checking on me once more before her shift ends at 9. Was it a good time flying? No crashes?🤔✈️

  32. Yeah, it was very nice flying. No crashes and for as nice as it was there weren’t many people out today. Which means more flying for those of us there.

    • Oh, right, it’s me that has the exciting news. I used to have a cataccount for Muffin and I would put a little money in there every so often so she could buy me a present for Christmas and my birthday, also for Cabin Fever Day. I was cleaning off my desk and found this envelope, which was her cataccount and it still had money in it because she didn’t spend it all at Christmas. So, I used it to buy myself a birthday present, which is actually Muffin’s last present for me. Sniff.😢 She was such a nice friend. 😊😻

    • Not quite sure yet. I might get a table top fountain to put with all my plants. Or there’s this cool wagon planter that I could use for my parlor palm. It’s not actually a planter, but it holds a planter. It would be perfect really and since it’s genuine pine it would fit with my place nicely too. But I would have to add a bit to get that one, which is okay.

  37. Oh yeah… I forgot about all of that!!🙄 Nah it was an alright day. I’m just trying to keep those days to minimum now that I’m retired. It wears me out, and my body aches because of the stupid Statins I’m on because of my heart and cholesterol.

    • Oh, I didn’t know they would cause aches and pains like that, sorry to hear that. Maybe you shouldn’t drive around so much, or something. It wasn’t so hot here today, only 84 degrees, though I’m still worn out and weak feeling and my legs are shaky. Headache is still there, but not as bad today. It’s supposed to be cooler the rest of the week.

    • If I drink anymore I may as well just stay in the bathroom! I can’t remember the last time I drank this much. Well, aside from yesterday. I’m tired though since I haven’t been sleeping well, so that might have something to do with it too. Plus I’m not eating much. Might get thunderstorms overnight and that would be bad, means I would have to close windows. Good thing I bought an extra fan today.

    • Yep, it’s a cold front moving through but I really hope those storms miss us here. The trees are all in bloom now and I wanted to get out to take pictures tomorrow. Wasn’t feeling good enough today.

    • That’s what I like, positivity! I’m positive too, as long as there’s no wind and rain with those storms, the blooms will be perfect tomorrow, and of course getting some sunshine too. Supposed to be 3 days of rainy weather after tomorrow. We do need rain though. And pictures. 😂😂⛈️⛈️🙄

    • Actually several of the PSW’s are very pretty! And they are in our building, though they don’t live here. I thought maybe family would come and visit their grandparents or parents, and they might be cute. If they’re women then they can be called girls, though you might want to be careful about it, some might not like it.😂 This comment sneaked in again, my notifications just don’t work properly anymore. Sigh.🤔🙄

    • It returned today with a vengeance. It was hotter than yesterday, that cold front didn’t come through. It’s coming tomorrow now, complete with thunderstorm risk all day. But I did get out for pictures this morning, until I slipped off a curb and twisted my back. I had to come back home after that. My back has been screaming bad all day. But, there’s good news too…

  46. Good news is always welcome no matter what it is or who it’s for…
    Wow, did it rain here today!! I was driving on the interstate and came across a highway patrol sitting on the road with his lights activated and the road was completely flooded to about a foot deep. Supposed to rain again tomorrow also.

    • Oooo, you got some serious rain! We’re supposed to have rain for 3 days, but mostly showers. We need rain, it’s very dry. Daytime highs, though will drop down to high 60s and low 70s, until Saturday when it’s back into hot again.

    • I got quite a few pictures today before hurting myself. Those trees are already dropping their blossoms though, many were half gone already! But there were still a lot of nice ones. It was a good year for them this year!
