The Investigators, Inc. Mountain Cabin Murder Mystery. Chapter 9. Mr. Frazer.

I was relieved that we were able to get our girls out of that death trap easily, but they are still in that mansion. And, we still don’t know who has been doing these murders. Is it one of the girls we are protecting? Is it someone who is hiding out in one of these secret passages and rooms? Is it none of the above? Carine said she had heard voices while in the cellar, so I had Sky take her back to the mansion and perhaps she can hear something that might help us. Carine can hear through stone walls and through listening devices that others are using against us.

This is a new ability she has learned to use with Kat’s help and guidance. We need some help on this case to find out who these people are. And who is that woman’s voice we heard? It doesn’t match any of the women who are fake mothers to these girls and it doesn’t match any of the other women we know. Now it’s time to talk with the four people that know all of these fake parents. Unfortunately I didn’t get anywhere with these people either and they were actually quite indignant.

They thought it was terrible of us to delve into the lives of people we didn’t even know and one man even threatened to call the police and have our license revoked so we could no longer interfere in other people’s lives. Right then Cristy sent me some information which I told to that man, information that proved he and his company were involved in illegal practices such as extortion, blackmail and drugs. So I told him to call the police if he wanted and we will see which of us would end up in prison.

I said we were trying to save some young children from being trafficked in sex and if he thought that was wrong, then there is something terribly wrong with him. He signed off at that point, as did another couple. One couple and a single woman stayed on with us to talk some more. Both of them claimed they had no idea that their friends were involved in such things. The remaining couple soon signed off though due to having a business meeting they needed to attend, but both said they would call me back.

The remaining woman stayed for a while, she knew Marlene quite well and a couple of the other ladies we were investigating. She was shocked when she learned what they were doing, she even began to cry thinking of those children being raised by such people. She asked why we didn’t have them arrested. “We don’t have the kind of proof that we need to stop them,” I said, “but we soon will have everything we need.” After we were finished talking with her I called Cristy.

“Well Cristy,” I said, “did we catch any fish?” “Someone was listening in to the conversations,” she said, “right to the very end. That means that Lara’s life is in danger now.” “Yes, and so is Marlene’s life,” I said, “but we had to do this, some fish can only be caught with the right bait.” “Steve,” said Tracy, “that woman’s voice, I have been working on it and I believe it’s a young woman, very young, like maybe mid-teens. Perhaps it’s another illegal daughter, and, to go along with that, the man that was so worked up and wanted to call the police, they have a daughter that is 16. I checked her out and her birth certificate is fake as well.”

“Well done Tracy!” I exclaimed, “Now we are getting somewhere.” I then called Aari and asked if the Black Wolves were ready and he said yes, so I told him to get started and who to start with. Meanwhile, “Mr. Frazer,” said his secretary, “there’s a man here by the name of Aari Jensen. He doesn’t have an appointment but said he can help you with that Investigators group.” “Good, send him in,” he said. Aari went into the office, along with Clarence and Ivy. “This is my associate, Clarence, and my wife Ivy,” he said, “I hear you and some friends have been having a bit of trouble with the Investigators.”

“Word gets around quick,” said Mr. Frazer, “how did you find out?” “I make it my business to find out things Mr. Frazer,” said Aari. Just then the door burst open and in came Rock and some other Wolves, bringing the secretary with them. “What is going on here!?” demanded Frazer as he stood up behind his desk. “You are in no position to make demands Mr. Frazer,” said Aari, then he nodded to Rock who turned the desk around to face Aari. “Unlock the drawers Frazer,” said Aari. “No, there is nothing in there but personal items that don’t concern you,” he said firmly.

Aari then hit him twice and the man fell back onto his chair, his lips bleeding. “Now, don’t make me say it again,” said Aari. Frazer then took out a key and handed it to Aari. “Take the place apart,” said Aari. “Wait, what are you looking for?” asked a very nervous Frazer. “Your safe,” said Aari, “where is it?” “I, I don’t have one here,” he said, “I keep all valuables at the bank.” Aari and the other Black Wolves laughed, then Aari told them to get at it, which they did. They began to smash things and toss stuff around and when Frazer’s two bodyguards tried to intervene, they got tossed around too.

They found the safe hidden behind a picture. “Not very original Mr. Frazer,” said Aari, “now, open it.” “You leave Chuck, I mean, Mr. Fraser, alone you bully,” said the secretary as she stood between the two of them, “just wait until the police find out about this!” “And what will you tell them Mrs. Markham?” asked Aari, “Perhaps we could tell the police about Mr. Frazer’s dealings with sex trafficking of children, or thefts, or drug smuggling, or murder.” “You can’t prove any of that!” exclaimed Mr. Frazer. “I don’t have to,” said Aari, “just mentioning it to the police will get them checking you out very thoroughly.”

Aari then pointed to the safe and Frazer got up and opened it, then sat down again. “Clean it out,” said Aari, then he opened the desk drawers and removed anything important looking. Once they had the safe emptied, then Mac checked it and found a secret compartment which he had open quickly. There was a box inside full of gems and about 500,000 pounds. Plus, Mac found a button which he pressed and the wall below the safe slid open to reveal another safe which Mac opened. There was more cash in there, plus gold and silver.

“Well, well,” said Aari, “looks like your friends are going to be a bit angry that you lost all their money, or at least some of it anyway. Thank you for your donation.” Then the Black Wolves left and they went around to the other members of this exclusive “club”. Mr. Frazer was obviously the leader of this group, he had the most money and gems. Altogether they managed to walk away with 3 million pounds in cash, plus some gems, gold, silver and drugs. They also found a lot of evidence for the sex trafficking business but they left that behind for the police to find later…
