The Investigators, Inc. Mountain Cabin Murder Mystery. Chapter 11. Ending.

Well, things were going quite well for us finally with Frazer’s own men killing his “parents group”. Frazer and those men were arrested along with their wives and Sheila, the secretary. It turned out that it was a rather small group of individuals in this little affair, but they sure did a lot of damage with their use of children in sex trafficking, plus murdering of children and a few adults over the last 10 years. They made millions of pounds in profits which they divided equally among themselves each month.

All of them had bank accounts in other countries to keep their money safe. We found those bank accounts, hacked into them and removed the money, putting it all in Frazer’s own personal bank account back home. That made it much easier for the police to get hold of it. The Black Wolves returned much of the gold, silver and drugs to Frazer’s safe overnight, with some ghostly helpers. All of the children have been found and taken into custody. They will all receive the counseling that they need and then hopefully they will each be put into loving homes.

Kayla, who helped us by calling the other parents and telling them that Frazer had all their money and was about to run away with it, was left in the custody of Ivy. “What is going to happen with me?” Kayla asked Ivy. “Well, a lot will depend on you Kayla,” replied Ivy, “you have been raised in this terrible atmosphere for many years and you will need to have some good counseling to help you deal with all of that.”

“I’m scared Ivy,” she said, “maybe they will put me in prison or in some horrible youth detention center. I have been in those places and they are full of bad people who try to enlist more kids into their gangs. I don’t want to go there Ivy, I don’t, it scares me so much! I don’t want to be part of that life anymore, I never did actually, and that’s the honest truth. But, if I didn’t obey, then I would be beaten or starved or locked in my room for days at a time. Can’t you help me maybe? I promise to obey you. Maybe I could be your personal maid, or something. Please Ivy.”

“We don’t have personal maids in the Investigators Kayla,” Ivy explained, “that would be kind of hard since we have so many people working in our team. But, I will call Steve and see what he says. Does that sound okay?” She nodded yes, with tears rolling down her cheeks. Ivy called me right away to tell me about Kayla and a few minutes later I was knocking on the door of the flat where Kayla lived with her fake parents. I introduced myself, Jennifer and Celestine, then we sat down to talk things over with Kayla.

Celestine will be watching Kayla, listening too, because she is very good at being able to tell if people are being honest with their answers. That’s very important at times like this because Kayla would have been taught to lie in a very believable way and we need to know if she is telling the truth or not. We also brought Snow, Jewel and Sir Night along as well. They are also very good at being able to tell whether people are being truthful or not. I let Jennifer and Celestine do most of the questioning, I thought that might make things easier for Kayla.

She appeared to be very nervous which is to be expected considering what she has been through and knowing nothing about us. I told Snow to sit with Kayla so she quickly jumped over onto her lap, curled up and began to purr. That seemed to really help Kayla, apparently she always wanted a cat but was never allowed to have a pet of any kind. We talked for about an hour then I asked the cats for their report and they went to the end of the sofa where they meowed quietly together. Sir Night came to me and said they all believe that Kayla is true and not lying.

Celestine just smiled and Jennifer communicated that we should take her home with us if the police say it’s okay. I called the police chief and asked him about Kayla to see if we could take her home with us if she wanted to come. He said that would be okay if we signed a legal document saying we would be responsible for her and I told him that would be no problem. When I told this to Kayla she hugged me so tight I thought she would break some of my ribs!

Next, we have Dawn’s team guarding Marlene and Lara right now, though the danger to them is likely over now that this gang has been completely rounded up and arrested. Both Marlene and Lara had spent some time packing since they will be coming back with us too, but just temporarily, to keep them safe until we are sure there is no danger left. Megan and Emma, from the “adventure girls” have been arrested and charged with murder, Kerry, Krissy and Darlene will be coming home with our girls temporarily until they figure out what they want to do.

Kerry still lives at home with her mother, Marlene, and she has offered to take in the other 2 girls as well. We believe they all want to get out of their old lifestyle and start over again. Krissy and Darlene will need some counseling too and we have offered to do that which they accepted. Kayla and Mandy should get along well and Mandy will be a good help to her since she was also involved in being sex trafficked. The police will be sorting things out from here on, so our part is done once more. Now we can all return home to our chateau and relax until our next case comes along.
