The Investigators, Inc. The Major Case. Chapter 14. Bad Company.

Now, we need to back up our story just a bit to the previous night. Galyna, as you might remember, had just called Sky who said just 2 words, “Get them!” So we pick up the story from that point. “Mind if I join you boys,” said Galyna, smiling. “Look girl, why not go for a swim,” said Pete, “maybe you can drown yourself.” “Hey now Pete,” she answered, “that is not very nice.” “You know that gal?” said one of the men. Pete stood up, “no, I sure do not.”

Then he pulled out his gun. That is when Sigurbjorn kicked him in his lower back, causing him to yell. Galyna then grabbed his gun arm and swung it around, getting both arms behind his back and pushed them up high. Sigurbjorn then got handcuffs on him quickly. “Cops!” said the second man and both men jumped up to help Pete. “Thwock! Thwock!”, and both men fell to the floor.

Astrid then picked up the steel balls and gave them back to Muffin and MC. Astrid then called Sky and told her they had Pete. “The girls have Pete in the lounge Major,” said Sky. The Major pointed to 2 of his men. “Bring him to me,” he said. It was easy to tell the Major was not in a good mood. “Maybe you girls should take Macey to your room for a bit,” said the Major. So they did. His men arrived in the lounge and noticed the 2 men on the floor.

Galyna pointed out Pete to them. They then took him up to the Major. Major put on his leather gloves, something he always did before talking to people, at least certain people. “Did you touch my daughter?” he asked nicely. “No, no, I would never do that!” exclaimed Pete. Major gave him a back handed slap, almost knocking him out of the chair.

“That is not what my daughter told me,” said Major, “are you saying she lied to me?” “Well, no, I mean, just at the beginning, uh, I guess I sort of got carried away,” he said very nervously, “but I did not mean no harm, really.” He got another hard slap, the other side this time. This went on for a while. Pete admitted it was his idea, he thought it was a good way to get rich without working.

“You are just a lazy good for nothing brat!” said Major, “take him out of here. He said he likes scuba diving to watch the fish. Let him try it tonight.” Two of the men took Pete away and came back after a while. “He is swimming with the fishes,” said one man. “Pete will not be hurting any more girls,” said the other man.

Now we can return to the next morning. Sky ran to the Major’s room with Macey. He was up and let them in. “We know where they are!” said Sky excitedly, “except I do not know how to read the chart that came up.” “Roy, take a look at it,” said the Major. “Oh, no problem finding that,” he said and checked on the laptop, “here they are, likely on this tiny island.” “Take Frank and go get them, fast,” said Major, “you can eat when you get back.”

“Sure thing,” they said and off they went. Sky wanted to go, but the chopper was not big enough for everyone. “It will not take them long to get there and bring them back,” the Major said to her smiling, “meanwhile we can have our breakfast.” “Can the other girls come too daddy?” asked Macey. “Sure, but they have to come now or they miss out,” he said chuckling. Sky and Macey ran back to their rooms and got the girls moving fast.

The helicopter was soon in the air and heading for that little island. It really will not take them long to get there, which is a good thing, as trouble has come to the tiny island. “Okay Storm,” said Kristina, “this could be trouble, so we have to be prepared. Remember “hide and seek” that we practiced at home?” Meowr.=Me remember, me do good. “Good boy, now, you hide and only come out if I call your name, or if you see me getting hurt,” she said.

Storm ran off and hid under a big leafed bush and watched carefully. Kristina got the knife she found and that little club. She put the knife behind a large rock since she had no way to carry it, she was only wearing a swimsuit. The boat got close to shore, with 4 young guys in it. Kristina groaned, that was something she feared would happen and wearing a swimsuit would likely just get these guys looking for trouble.

“Hey guys, look, a mermaid, just for us,” said one of them, “this will be more fun than we thought!” “You guys just stay in your boat and leave me alone,” she called to them. “Oh no girl, we want fun,” said that same man, “and here I come!” Kristina made it known she had that club, but it did not stop them. Another man jumped out and worked his way behind Kristina. This will not be good, she thought to herself, she was too worn out for a fight…

Thursday Thoughts With Coffee. #3

Hello everyone! Looks like we are in for more cloudy weather today, heavy clouds which makes it very dull and dark indoors. So lights must be used so I can see what I’m doing! Oh well. It is not quite as cold this morning which is nice. Especially since this is garbage day. Getting things done is sometimes easier to do with bare hands.

The warmer weather we had on the weekend softened the snow in the driveway which created ruts that are deep, and now frozen. That made it hard to drag my trash can out to the street. It was hard enough just to walk with all the ruts. And it will be like that until we get enough snow to cover them. The joys of winter. It might look pretty, but it also comes with dangers and hardships in many different ways.

Baxter the blue jay.

The last couple of days there have been quite a few blue jays around. Seems to be back to normal almost with at least 8 of them coming and staying around most of the day again. That is nice. The month of January is going by fairly quick. Sort of. Yet it still seems like it has been around for such a long time. This time of year I like to think of summer.

Scramble, my river path squirrel.

It seems so far away, many months away in fact. But I have a lot of summer pictures to enjoy which is nice. Like summer birds. Part of my list of country pleasures. I like birds. You probably guessed that already though. I think I mentioned it yesterday too. Seeing some of these different birds is definitely a country pleasure. There are so many different species, some with amazing colors. Some birds have fabulous coloring and yet we would not think of them that way. Like sparrows.

White-throated Sparrow, one of our larger sparrows.

They are just a brown striped bird. Nothing exciting, is what most people would say. But some of them have beautiful coloring. Some perhaps not so much, but their mix of rich browns make them beautiful too. Copper is coming regularly now. He is one of my squirrels. Another squirrel comes now and then as well. He is a new one and looks more copper colored than Copper does right now.

Jasper, my favorite squirrel. He does not come around anymore.

But they have their winter coats on now and they are normally a different color than their summer coats. Usually darker, and much thicker. Squirrels are also a country pleasure. I call the squirrels and birds a country pleasure, yet they can be found in towns and cities too. So, you can enjoy these country pleasures most anywhere.

Harris’ Sparrow, one of our largest sparrows.

So, I thought perhaps I would just use today to share some pictures of summer beauty with different birds, and at least one squirrel with a cute pose. Unfortunately the background of that picture is a bit messy, so just look at the squirrel. I am late today.

Sometimes it is just hard to get going on these dull, cloudy days. Plus getting my garbage out did take more time than usual. Oh well, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the pics for a few minutes. I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
