The Beauty of Flowers. #4

Good morning everyone!

Well, it looks like another cool day ahead for us here in the north. It was only 64F (18C), yesterday, rather cold for the beginning of August. That is what we would expect maybe about mid September. Today is supposed to be 68F (20C), but we will see if we actually make it, after all, yesterday was supposed to be 70F. Oh well, today we have a nice sunny wildflower to share anyway. This is the “Black-eyed Susan”, a native wildflower for us, though not especially common in this area. These are about the same size as a daisy. I love the sunny, cheerful look of these flowers. I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday and God bless!

Solitude On My Deck. #11 Park Day 2.

Good morning and Happy Saturday everyone! Nothing quite like a relaxing Saturday morning. It has been a busy week and you just want to relax and enjoy something different. Now, some people would rather enjoy their Saturday morning sleeping until noon. I know some people like that. But for me I have always liked to enjoy Saturday, right from early morning.

I have never been a night person. I prefer getting to bed fairly early and getting up early. But that is just me. I am kind of different that way. Well, we have to face it, I am just different. How many people do you know that get excited about photographing insects? Anyway, I thought we would visit another park this morning, while it is still sort of morning.

This is probably my second favorite park that we have and the closest to where I live. It would be within walking distance, on a good day. It is covered with nice tall red pines with some white pines and white spruce, plus a few others like birch and aspen.

There is a lookout spot by the lake to get a good view.

There are beautiful shaded areas to sit on picnic tables or a nice open area for lazing in the sun. It is located on the north shore of our beautiful lake and there is a nice and there is a nice bouncing play structure to enjoy on the lake. It is nicely roped off for safety purposes.

Fun time in the lake.

And there is a lovely sand beach for swimming, though there is no beach actually showing this year, it is completely underwater. However, it just makes a larger sandy area for swimming. Hi Eugenia and Callie, nice you could make it out again. Muffin is jumping with excitement to see her friend Callie once more. And here is Rossana with Mila, another of Muffin’s friends so she is quite excited now as she shows them around the park.

Here comes Kim and Nina, with MC. Wow, look at Muffin and MC jumping up and down now! The four cats will have a great time I am sure. Hi Sheree, hi Jeanne, so nice to see you today. There are not many wildflowers at this park, it is a very popular destination and people tend to pick the flowers that are available.

But I see some daisies and clover blossoms over near the edge of the trees. There is a nice gazebo with picnic tables to use, one of the few level spots in the park. Here comes Herb, Ben and Dusty. Oh, it looks like they are having a race to the food table. Ben is in the lead, hey, watch out for that tree guys! Seems one of them didn’t see it, guess he lost the race. Do not worry, he was not hurt, neither was the tree. Just a bit of fun for the morning.

The gazebo area overlooking the lake.

The sun is shining beautifully at the park on a nice warm day. Just perfect weather really and not much wind either. Sometimes mallard duck families will swim along the shore here, but not on this day. There is only one family at the beach area today, but afternoon is when it gets a lot busier. Please just help yourself to more coffee, tea, Canadian iced tea, lemonade, or pink lemonade.

Daisy and red clover.

I thought there was still some donuts left but I see the cats just ran off with one each. Oh well, maybe I will get one next time. Thank you all for coming again today, do not forget, pets are always welcome to come along too. Good bye to all, have a wonderful weekend and God bless!
