Nature’s Beauty. #2

Hi again everyone!

Welcome back to the second photo in our series of nature’s beauty. I admit not everyone would consider a dead tree to be beautiful and yet it does add its own beauty to the natural landscape, especially around a pond, or in this case, a lake. They provide places for birds to sit, such as kingfishers waiting to catch a minnow in the water, or places for building nests, such as for woodpeckers who hollow out a hole in a dead tree for their nest. And they just provide that artistic touch against the water or sky. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and God bless!

Wildflower Of The Week. #13

Hi everyone!

This is one of my favorite tiny wildflowers, the “Bicknell’s Cranesbill”. The name is bigger than the flower. The flower is only about 1/4 inch (6mm) across, but even though so small it really is a beautiful wildflower. It is actually in the geranium family which is hard to believe considering it’s small size. But they are a plentiful wildflower enjoying nice sunny or part shady areas, preferring though to be out in more open areas. Each plant will have several flowers on it, which extends it’s blooming time. Well, have a great day everyone and God bless!
