For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hello everyone and welcome back to some more humor that hopefully will bring a smile to the beginning of your week! Hmm, a long opening sentence. Actually I once wrote a sentence that was more than 500 words long. Anyway, here are Grover’s picks for today!
============
Leroy: Why do you say that Jerry is noted for his after dinner speaking?
Bill: He always manages to be speaking on the phone when the waiter brings the check for the meal.
==========
Two rival opera singers were making conversation with each other backstage at the opera house. “I insured my voice for half a million dollars,” bragged the one. “And what,” countered the other, “have you done with the money?”
============
Tact= The ability to make your guests feel at home when you wish they were.
=========
“Get up and get ready for school,” the lady said to her son, “it’s nearly 7:30!” From under the covers came a plea, “oh mom, it’s awful. The kids don’t like me. The teachers are against me. Even the janitor doesn’t like me.” The mother persisted, “you have got to go to school, you’re 40 years old and you are the principal!”
===========
Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven’t met yet.
=========
I don’t trip over things, I do random gravity checks.
===========
When I was a child I thought naptime was a punishment. Now as an adult, it feels like a small vacation.

Well, there we have it for today, I hope you got a chuckle or a groan out of these! Have a great Monday and God bless!

Good morning to everyone on this fine Sunday! Looks like it will be another nice day. Well, it is a little hard to tell I guess, since it is still rather dark out there. But it is supposed to be a nice day with a mix of sun and cloud. It was quite sunny yesterday though and the temperature rose to a nice 18F (-8C). Not exactly spring weather, but after what we have had lately, it felt very nice anyway. I did have some excitement yesterday though. Not the kind of excitement I enjoy having however.

The kind that we wish didn’t come around, but does now and then. Well, at least it comes around to me now and then. Perhaps you do not have those kind of days. I get them. Too frequently sometimes. Some things were good. Like the man came and shoveled the snow of my roof yesterday. That was good. And he even cleared out my walkway that he filled in with snow. That was good.
It was sunny, mostly. So that was good. There were a lot of redpolls again yesterday, I figured close to 100 for a while. That was good. There were, however, a few things that were not quite so enjoyable. Like the fact that some of that snow landed on my steps and deck. You may not know this, but when snow is pushed off a roof like that, it lands rather hard. And it turns hard as ice right away. Hard enough to easily walk on top without leaving a mark in the snow.

Now, that makes it very difficult to shovel it off the deck. Fortunately it was not too deep, except in places where it was nearly 15 inches (about 37cm) deep. And hard. Also hard to chop it with a plastic shovel. It did make some nice blocks of snow once I got it going. But that is not all, other things happened as well, but I will leave those for another time. Maybe I will let Muffin talk about them this afternoon. Maybe. Thank you for reading today, have a nice sunny Sunday and God bless!
