Steve’s Old Country Sayings. #14

Hi everyone! This might seem like obvious advice, but I have seen this happen to people, and other things happening to people as well. Plus, you might hurt the tree in the process. Hmm, anyway, have a great week everyone and God bless!

Sunday’s Sunshine! #32

Good morning and Happy Sunday! Wow, hard to believe another week is over and here we are starting a new week already. But it’s a beautiful morning once more. Although a bit cloudy right now, the sun is supposed to shine today as well, and another mild day awaits! I thought the time change last night would mean daylight would arrive early this morning, but the clouds kept things darker so I didn’t have to rush around getting the bird feeders ready. I still decided to rush a little since the birds would still be here earlier than normal. I should have gotten everything ready last night, if I had been smart. However, I have never put myself in that category. I will be better prepared tomorrow morning however, unless I forget. And that is always a possibility.

A nice bright zinnia for today.

Before I continue, I must ask a question. It’s a rather odd question, but I need to know. Some of you read my posts on your phones, perhaps with the WP app, or perhaps not. Here’s the question, when you see words like these (can’t, won’t, he’s, she’s, it’s, and others like them), do they look normal? Or is there an extra space after the apostrophe ( ‘ ), before the “s” or “t” appears? It looks fine on my laptop and on my phone, with and without the WP app. But a friend pointed out this problem to me last night, so I needed to ask, just so you don’t think it’s me doing it, I’m typing it correct, honest.

Anyway, it’s a beautiful morning and I’m enjoying each day we get because I know it won’t last much longer. Theodore came by for a visit yesterday and gerbled for a bit. That’s her way of talking, only lately it’s been more of a gwip, gwip, or something like that. After counting over a hundred evening grosbeaks on Friday, there were only about 50 or so yesterday. Perhaps they are starting to leave me? But the smaller birds were active all day anyway. I was trying to get a picture of the red-breasted nuthatch yesterday afternoon.

Another nice zinnia.

Even though there were lots of seeds on the feeder, he was intent on hopping around on the deck looking for good seeds among all the empty shells. So I was looking on the deck, ready to get his picture. I tried unsuccessfully a couple of times, but hoping he would come nice and close. He did come close, he landed on my head! A little too close for a picture though, but it was funny. These little birds really are great to have around. Well, I hope you all have a beautiful, sunny Sunday and God bless!
