For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone on this rather cool Monday! It is winter after all, so we have to expect colder weather. And it really is not very cold yet, it was 10F (-12C) this morning, but not much wind. It will get much colder than this over the next few months. I hope to get out this week and get some more early winter photos to share with you. Personally I prefer looking at summer photos year round. As you know, I’m not really a winter person anymore. I used to like winter, though I’m not really sure why.
However, I have always preferred summer and spring as my two favorite seasons, but summer is tops on the list. I know that each season has its own beauty and I enjoy that beauty. But when the temperature is -40 and the wind is howling, the best place to stay is indoors. Yes, I have gone walking through the forest in cold weather, when the temperature reached -50F (about -46C). Only because I like doing crazy things, as most of you know. It is probably all that time outside in the cold that did it to me. Froze my brain. That is why I keep doing such crazy things all the time.

I mentioned one other day that I was going to start showing some of my favorite photos from the last 3 years. So starting today I will be doing that on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You may remember seeing some of them, but I think that most of them will be different. Photos that I kept meaning to use, but never did for one reason or another. It is a beautiful, sunny day, but it really is not going to warm up much. Tomorrow, however, we will be back in the mid 30sF (2C), and then it gets even colder than now. It is that up and down temperature that is hard, at least on me anyway.
I went out shopping today, something that I do early Monday morning when there is not many people around. I don’t really like crowded stores for shopping, never have. So today I’m walking down an aisle, to the side so if someone wants to get past me they can, easily. I stop to pick up something and a young woman talking on her phone rammed into me. I say “rammed” because that’s what happened. She was walking and talking on her phone, not paying attention.

She nearly knocked me down, “(bleep) guy,” she said to me, “some (bleep) guy stopped in front of me, idiot.”, she said to whoever she was talking to on the phone. That is what happens when you don’t pay attention. I am glad she wasn’t pushing a cart though, that might have hurt, she was walking rather fast. Things always happen to me when I go shopping, it does add an element of fun to the trip. Oh well, my excitement for this trip. I hope you all have a marvelous Monday and God bless!

Hello everyone and welcome back to our smiling Monday morning! And hopefully a chuckling morning as well. So, here we go with a few more chuckles and laughs for you to enjoy!

A couple had been married for 45 years and had raised a brood of 11 children and were blessed with 22 grandchildren.
When asked the secret for staying together all that time, the wife replies, “Many years ago we made a promise to each other…the first one to pack up and leave has to take all the kids.”

During a test I was administering, I noticed that one of my married students, who was quite pregnant, kept rubbing her side. Before she left, I asked her, “Are you okay? I noticed you were holding onto your side.”
“Oh, I’m fine,” she answered. “It’s just that my baby was pushing his foot up and down my ribs, and it hurt a little.”
“Well, that’s good,” I said, feeling genuinely relieved.
“Yeah,” she continued. “It’s strange. He normally sleeps during your class…”

Two older women, Colleen and Melinda, who were rivals in a social circle met at a party at their country club.
“My dear,” said Melinda, “Are those real pearls?”
“They are,” replied Colleen proudly.
“Of course the only way I could tell would be for me to bite them,” smiled Melinda sarcastically.
Colleen responded, “Yes, but for that you would need real teeth.”
=============A young accountant, after a long weary day of dealing with numbers, found an old lamp as he walked home. He picked it up, rubbed it and a genie appeared.
Genie: I will grant you three wishes!
Young accountant: I wish math didn’t exist.
Genie: DONE! You have no more wishes.

Ron once worked at a Chicago pizza shop to get by. He kneaded the dough.
