Morning Coffee At Steve’s Country #9.
Good morning everyone! Coffee is ready! Please help yourself, find a comfortable chair and relax! It is a nice mild morning with a wonderful blue sky. Hopefully that will mean a sunny day. That’s what I thought yesterday, but it turned out to be a very cloudy day that was really quite dull and no good for pictures unfortunately. So I missed those nice frosty trees. The frost was gone before lunch as the temp rose to 34F (1C). Oh well, there might be more opportunities yet this winter. For the rest of December during my ‘Morning Coffee’ post I will be sharing some more of my favorite pics from this year, starting with January 1st. And I will try to make sure they are pictures I haven’t used yet.
Muffin is pacing back and forth anxiously waiting for our first friends to show up. The blue jays and chickadees are busy this morning, but oddly, I haven’t seen any other birds around yet. Perhaps I have just missed them. It’s easy to miss the woodpeckers since they don’t stay around long when they come to visit. But they do show up several times a day. Yesterday I went for a walk along my path to the river. I didn’t make it all the way though. It was a bit hard walking in that soft snow, especially on the hills. But I’m going to try again today. It was very dark yesterday walking through the pines and it was only 2:30pm. Those heavy clouds sure made a difference. It was very quiet back there. I did hear a couple of woodpeckers and a few chickadees in the distance. That was all. I did discover a lot of rabbit tracks however. I always figured there must be some back there. Actually, they are not rabbits, but hares, not that there is really much of a difference.
Speaking of cats. I was awakened by a horrible yowling and hissing at midnight so I quickly got up to see what was going on. Muffin was on her way to wake me up, she then turned around and went back to the window. I turned the light on and she pointed to the intruder on the deck. It was an orange cat who had obviously been up at the window. He ran. So I praised Muffin for defending our apartment! She was happy as could be. Then she wanted a snack. I figured she deserved it. She ate. I dragged myself back to bed and was dreaming peacefully once more. Thank you very much for joining us again this morning, please help yourself to more coffee before you leave. Meow, meow!=Hi everyone, Muffin back again with more fun for your day! Meow!=I here too, me Mr. Cat! Meow,meow=How you get here? Meow.=You’re human say to me I should join you today. Meow,meow.=oooo, that good, now we have double fun! Meow.=Yep, and that human of yours, he always do such fun things just for us. Meow,meow.=Yep, I know, I wonder if all humans are like him? Meow.=Not think so, my human normal. Meow,meow.=Hmm, your human is girl, maybe that the reason, girls smarter than boys. Meow.=Yep, that could be it….HEY, wait a minute! I’m boy!
Meow,meow.=Yep, but you boy cat and you smartest, bestest boy cat of all! Meow.=Aww, thank you Muffin, and you the most beautifulest girl cat anywhere! Giggle. Meow,meow?=Did you see when my human looking for something in cupboard? Yep, he try to pull something out and half of stuff in cupboard come out and land on foot! Yep, then he stand up and hit head on counter part that stick out. Yep, and then he stand up and forget he leave door of upper cupboard open and he hit head again. Yep, then his legs spread apart while he do human purring. Yep, thought he was going to sit down like that! Yep, then he stumble around and step on package of nails!
Yep, then his eyes get real big and he start dancing on one leg. Yep, then he bump into other cabinet and almost knock glass jars on floor and there he is trying to catch them. Yep, and he do it too. And then he go get drink of water and knock it all over counter and onto floor and on feet! Yep, and his socks get all wet which he not like! Yep, and he go change socks and come back and right away he step in water on floor! Yep, then he do human purring again and go change socks again. The funny things he do just for us! Yep, he real nice that way.
By the way, you remember which one of us is talking? Nope. Giggle, giggle. Meow,meow.=I hope you all enjoy this today with me and Mr. Cat. Next time I talk about some other interesting things too. And maybe funny human things too. Mr. Cat and I hope you come back again next week, though I not sure if Mr. Cat be here then or not. But we want you have real nice day!
