For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone on this marvelous Monday! It’s certainly a bit cooler than yesterday, but there’s no snow like they got out west. They’re really digging out from a big snowstorm. The blue jays are busy again, plus chickadees and evening grosbeaks. Jasper must be sleeping late again. He did show up yesterday and was busy hauling away peanuts…and burying them in one of my flower pots! He had a deep hole dug in there with only his tail sticking out a bit. Finally he had enough in there and covered them up, safe as could be. Well, almost safe. I just had to see how many peanuts he put in there, so I dug down, and down, they were deeper than I thought. I pulled out a total of 18 peanuts. Hmm, guess I should put them back for him and see if he actually comes looking for them again. It was a nice day yesterday with an unbelievable temperature of 66F (19C). It was the snowstorm out west. Since it was moving north of us it was really bringing in that mild air from the south ahead of the storm.
It was a good day to just sit on the deck with a cup of tea and talk with Jasper as he told me his woes for the day. We had a good time together. He decided to sit and eat a peanut. Amazing how fast he can eat one of those things. Then he continued hauling some more away. Poor blue jays, they just sat in the trees watching as Jasper took all the peanuts. Oh well, they usually get a lot more peanuts than Jasper anyway. Like in the morning, the blue jays and Jasper were out there together trying to get peanuts. Poor Jasper. He just doesn’t learn he can’t chase the blue jays and win. He was running back and forth, up and down, chasing those blue jays. They just kind of hopped out of the way effortlessly or flew short lengths, taking turns going down for the peanuts while Jasper was occupied. In the end Jasper was worn out I’m sure, and the blue jays had all the peanuts. Jasper came to look. Nothing. I opened the door and gave him a nice big peanut. He ran over to the stairs and ate it, then came back for another one. Which he ate. Then he downed a third peanut. All that running around after those blue jays won’t help your stress levels, I told him. He just looked at me. I gave him another peanut. That one he took back home with him.

Well, our featured image today is one of my pink geraniums from the summer. They are a flower that really does very well in pots. Then we have a cute fuzzy bee enjoying herself on some nice little blue flowers. I showed a bee like this before, but this one is different. Those flowers must have very good nectar, they certainly attract those bees. I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless!

Greetings everyone! And welcome back to an awards and tags post here at Steve’s Country! But, it’s a little different because there is no awards or tags. What’s that? Meow, meow?=How we have award post with no award?πΉ Well, the problem is this, we did have a total of 24 awards from May through September of this year. I must admit, we did get a bit behind in those award posts. Meow, meow?=What you mean “we”, you the one that does typing, you got us behind.πΎ Um, yes Muffin, that is true, my fault. I do apologize to everyone who gave us awards and tags during that time period. I did have them all bookmarked, but, as you know my laptop quit working, and I lost all those bookmarks. So I have no idea now what all those awards were or who gave them, therefore I can’t find them all.

I might be able to find a few, but, because I can’t do them all we have decided to just do this one GREAT BIG THANK YOU post to all of you who gave us awards and tags during the summer!! We both greatly appreciate all of you for thinking of us for these fantastic awards and tags and from now on I will get at any awards a lot faster. Meow, meow.=If not I bite his feet.πΌπΉ Um, yes, right, that’s one way to remember.π

So again, from Muffin and I, and all our friends here at Steve’s Country, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR KINDNESS with all these awards and tags!! And we have received 2 new ones which we will be doing very soon! We hope you all have a fantastic week and God bless!
