Daily Pics #304.

Good morning to everyone! It’s a cool morning once more with a temp of 18F (-8C), but the sky is a beautiful blue and the sun is now shining on the tops of the trees. The blue jays are here arguing over their peanuts. The evening grosbeaks are sitting casually on the feeder feasting away on sunflower seeds, oddly no arguing among them this morning. They often do a lot of arguing for some reason. Pine grosbeaks are more calm and get along much better. The chickadees were the first birds here this morning, usually redpolls are first but I didn’t see or hear any redpolls this morning. That’s not good. I was hoping to have lots of them this winter.

They are a brave little bird and they don’t mind coming up close to me. That gives confidence to the larger birds so that they too will come close. That helps for getting better pics of the birds. And it also helps so I don’t have to stand out there in the cold for too long a time in order to get those pics. That’s a big plus. I would really enjoy having the redpolls and pine grosbeaks back this winter. They were not here last year, but there was a lot of them the winter before. Having the evening grosbeaks here is also a treat, their yellow color really brightens the winter landscape. I have put out some suet now to hopefully start attracting some woodpeckers and also to give some quick energy food for the chickadees and nuthatches during the colder weather of winter. It’s a quiet morning here, even the birds are gone now except a few chickadees. This winter has been off to a rather odd start. Guess I will keep this short today.

Forget-me-not

For our featured image at the top we have a nice red poppy in honor of Remembrance Day here in Canada. Remembering those who gave their lives so that we might enjoy the freedoms we have. Then we have the little blue “forget-me-not” flowers, a nice cheery addition for any garden. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and God bless!

Laughing Is Good.

Hello everyone! I was going through my collection of funnies this morning and came across this one which I just had to share with you. This one got me laughing quite a bit as I read it once again. I hope it will give you a chuckle or giggle at least. So, read on and enjoy!

The teacher was helping one of her kindergarten students put on his cowboy boots. He asked for help and she could see why. Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn’t want to go on. Finally, when the second boot was on, she had worked up a sweat. She almost cried when the little boy said, “Teacher, they’re on the wrong feet.”

She looked and sure enough, they were. It wasn’t any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on, this time on the right feet.

He then announced, “These aren’t my boots.”

She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, “Why didn’t you say so?” like she wanted to. And once again she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.

No sooner than they got the boots off he said, “They’re my brother’s boots. My Mom made me wear ’em.”

Now she didn’t know if she should laugh or cry, but she mustered up the grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again.

Helping him into his coat, she asked, “Now, where are your mittens?”

He said, “I stuffed ’em in the toes of my boots.”

I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!
