For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone and Happy Friday to all of you as well! Plus, today is the 150th day of the year marking 150 days of our Daily Pics Series. A new milestone for Muffin and I. And I forgot to mention it before, but Daily Pics #148 was the 1,000th post here on Steve’s Country since my blog began which is an even bigger milestone for me. I really never gave it much thought that I would make it to that point and now I’m past that. Even though I have slowed down a bit since last year. I used to do 3 to 4 posts a day and now it’s down to just 2 posts normally. However, slowing down on the number of posts has made it a bit tough to keep up with some of the posts I enjoyed writing, such as Nature’s Art and my coffee posts. But as I mentioned yesterday, the coffee posts will be back each week again on Tuesdays.
Adventures with my dad posts have also come to a halt but I’m going to try and get them in more often as well. But I would like to take this time to thank you all very much for all of your support for my blog! All of you are very important to Muffin and I and we truly appreciate each and every one of you and for the time you are willing to give up in order to read these posts every week! And please don’t worry if you can’t read every post, that is something that I understand is not an easy thing to do. But thank you for your faithful reading here at Steve’s Country! I do hope you will continue to enjoy your journey through all my meanderings each day.
And now for today’s pics that I hope you will enjoy…

Starting with these beautiful apple blossoms on the tree just a few feet from my deck. Sadly this tree will be cut down once the flowers are finished.

And next, in the above pic we have the blossoms from my neighbors mock cherry tree. It is simply covered with these beautiful pink flowers right now being enjoyed by many dozens of bees. It always produces many, many cherries to be enjoyed by different species of birds throughout fall and winter. The featured image at the top is a geranium flower opening.
And there we have our pics for today, I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and God bless!

Hello everyone and welcome to Coffee With Steve and Muffin, a slight variation of our coffee series which you probably noticed we haven’t been doing lately. I have been waiting for warmer weather to arrive so we could once again go outside and enjoy our coffee so much better. I just love having coffee outdoors, don’t you? It takes on a whole different flavor and adds to the enjoyment! And having a nice park by a lake makes it even better. But, best of all is having our coffee time with all of you, so please join us in this new series each week, Muffin and I would love to have you here with us.

Normally this will be on Tuesdays, but I’m a bit behind in things this week so we’re here today instead. And we are here on a beautiful sunny day at a nice park on Rabbit Lake. We were here last year as well, but we have some new pics to share this year, though a couple might overlap pics we saw last year, I hope you won’t mind that. There are many picnic tables for us to use here, plus a nice large grass area if you don’t mind sitting down on a blanket with your coffee and enjoy the beautiful scenery here at this little lake just on the edge of town. Muffin is here to join us, or rather, join you and I’m sure she will get around to as many of you as possible and join in with your conversations.

She really does like to talk a lot and she loves attention from you ladies. She really doesn’t like guys a lot so you might not want to try touching her, good way to get scratched. Seriously. I have lots of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate for everyone, plus decaf coffee and tea as well. And surprisingly I baked some cookies for us today, both chocolate chip and butterscotch chip (which is actually a favorite of mine). And I think Sheree is planning on bringing some of her delicious baking for us as well. Anyone else that would like to bring something along to eat, please do, we usually have a good turnout for our coffee times.

Hi Renee, I see Muffin has already welcomed you. And here is Jeanne, so nice of you to join us today. Hi Eugenia and Virginia, grab some coffee and get yourself a nice place to sit. Hi Rossana and Alessia, good to see you both. Hi Jim and Richard, how’s things in your part of the world? Not only is this a nice park, but it’s also the location for our local rowing club. This is a great rowing lake, it’s long and narrow and the waves are never much of a problem here. I see a pair of crows are out looking for food to feed their young ones. Plus a robin is over there closer to the lake. And there’s a grackle on some rocks along that little drainage ditch, which only has water in it when we happen to get a lot of rain.

And look there in the lake right near the shore, there is a pair of mallard ducks. It seems every small lake or pond around here will have mallards on them. I don’t see many wildflowers here, unless we count the dandelions, there is certainly a lot of them. Time seems to go so fast with our coffee times, already it is time to say good bye. I hope you have had a good time today and don’t forget to join us again next week. Have a wonderful week and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
