For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning everyone! Well, we are in the second half of March now and that means that spring is not far away. I hope it’s not far away at least. Officially the first day of spring begins on Friday I think, according to my calendar anyway. That might work okay further south, but it doesn’t really mean much up here in the north. However, if the forecast is correct, then some warmer temps will arrive next week. By warmer I mean that the temp will finally get up in the 30sF (2 or 3C). But that’s better than what we have so I would be very happy. So will Muffin. She did predict an early spring after all. Not much time left for that. It would have to get quite warm for the snow to be gone by the end of March now. Oh well, she tried her best, and it was her first year doing this as well.
So now let’s have our look at some sunny flower pics for today…

And what could be sunnier than a nice bright marigold from last summer. This is a very common garden annual flower around here.
And now a nice bright white Iceland poppy with sunny center aiming itself toward the morning sunshine.
I hope you have enjoyed today’s look at the beauty of summer sunshine. And wherever you live today, I hope you have a good day and God bless!

Did you see where they went Muffin? Meow, meow.=Yep, they disappeared. Muffin, people don’t just disappear. Meow!=Ghosts can! Did you actually see them disappear? Meow, meow.=Yep, disappear into little building. Good, now we’re getting somewhere, let’s go check that shed right now. Is your slingshot on tight? Meow, meow.=Yep, won’t help with ghosts though. Trust me Muffin, it will work, but use your rubber muffins. Meow.=Okay. That was one big sigh Muffin! Meow, meow!=You always want to chase ghosts! Trust me Muffin, they’re not ghosts, and stop sighing so much, it’s depressing. Meow, meow.=Good, then not just me that’s depressed.

There’s 3 sheds Muffin, which one? Meow.=Brown one. Hmm, it’s locked from the inside. I rattle it a bit then give one big pull and it flies open and…it’s Bill! Meow! He’s standing there with a shotgun pointed at us! We both jump out of the way and Boom! We both had jumped opposite directions, Muffin and I lay there momentarily, then Muffin comes running over to me. Meow!=Ghost gone! What?! I get up quickly and look in the shed and sure enough, Bill was gone. But how? We went inside, it’s only about 10 x 12 feet in size and filled with junk. But there is only the one door with no sign of a hidden door, which would have to be in the floor. But it’s a dirt floor. This is certainly weird. Jessica came running over to us. She had heard the shotgun and came running to see what was going on.

But she was kind of slow getting out here, Muffin and I had already checked around the shed. Why the delay? Sorry I didn’t come sooner, she said, I was scared. That makes sense, I guess. However, she doesn’t seem like the type who scares easily. She even said so herself, that’s why she stays out here. I told Jessica what just took place, but she couldn’t believe it. Bill is dead, she repeats, I know he is! Meow, meow?!=See? He really is ghost, we leave, I’ll go pack. No Muffin, he is not a ghost and we’re not leaving. Meow.=Rats, knew you would say that. Perhaps it’s someone that looks a lot like Bill. After all, we only see him quickly, so we don’t really get a good look at him. That’s possible, said Jessica, but no one around here looks like Bill. Okay, that makes it tougher.

I tell Jessica to go back to the hotel while Muffin and I look around some more. Meow, meow.=I see him good, ghost is Bill. I know you did Muffin, but it can’t be Bill. If he faked his death, it would be crazy for him to stay around here. And what would be the point anyway? Unless he had a big death insurance policy which Jessica could collect and then they could disappear together. Meow!=Look here! Well, look at that, something we missed. I small door in the back wall, big enough to crawl through, it’s barely noticeable. Good going Muffin! We go around back and push our way through some bushes which then opens up to a fairly well used trail. Down this trail we go….my poor head. I open my eyes, it’s dark and cold. I can’t see anything really, and I’m tied up!
What happened? And where’s Muffin?
To be continued.
