Morning Coffee…A Poem.

Morning Coffee

Outside on a summer morn,

Watching as the day is born.

Morning coffee in my hand,

By the river I do stand.

Morning sun shines through the trees,

Not the faintest of a breeze.

Ripples in the water show

Little ducks, just watch them go!

Listen now, a thrush does sing,

Soon more birds a chorus bring.

Eagles fly high in the air

Effortless, without a care.

Squirrel comes for peanuts free,

While I sip, morning coffee.

One of our wildflowers called “boneset”.

Good morning everyone on this beautiful, sunny Sunday!  Looks like another mild day for us before going to back to winter temps once again.  But at least none of that brutal cold will be around from now on.  Hopefully anyway.  There was a cat around again early this morning, just before it got light, so that upset Muffin.  She has been pacing the floor, going up to each of the windows, back to pacing the floor, then she took off running!  She has been just flying around here, even running right across me as I was working on this and somehow she managed to delete what I had done.  So I had to start over.  Oh well.  She has now stopped, I think, she’s taking a brief rest anyway.  Today we have flowers from 3 different countries to enjoy.

So let’s get started…

Flower 1

This first one is from France, taken during my vacation, but I have no idea what it is.IMG_0349

This one, from my friend Ross, is from Italy and looks just like our wild bush honeysuckle, except it’s white.  Ours comes in yellow and red.IMG_4979

And here is a nearly white (actually a very light lavender) delphinium from my landlord’s garden.

There we have it for today, hope you like it.  Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.
