For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Continuing our look at About Beauty. A collaboration with Ilona.
Not everyone is beautiful or handsome outwardly, at least according to our society standards, but everyone can be beautiful inside. That’s really what is the most important thing, because what’s inside is the real person. I’m not saying anything against people that are beautiful, not at all. I’m just saying that outward beauty doesn’t last, it never stays the same.
That’s where inner beauty is so different. I think it’s important to concentrate on what’s inside. I think this is something that should be taught to children as they are growing up, so that they will understand the difference and not get caught up in society’s love affair with outward beauty. But hopefully then they will cultivate a love for the inner beauty instead.
Outward beauty doesn’t last long. Everyone gets older and that outward beauty fades. But inner beauty a person can have for life. Inner beauty is really the true beauty of a person. Inner beauty is something that comes from the heart, which then shines outwardly, radiating in such a way that everyone can see that beauty. Inner beauty is captivating, it never grows old, never fades away like outward beauty. Inner beauty grows brighter, stronger and more attractive as a person gets older.

Autumn’s Beauty
This forest path, oh what beauty,
Such quietness, just right for me.
Autumn’s colors are such a treat,
Chickadees sing their song so sweet.
Above, an eagle soars so high,
Little sandpiper runs right by.
A lonely gull stands on the rock,
All of this wonder on my walk.
A hawk sitting high in a tree,
As I walk past he watches me.
The sun does shine along the shore,
Such beauty to share and much more.
I like to walk along this way,
See autumn’s beauty every day.
