For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hello once again everyone! I had actually planned to do this Thank You post back in July, but for some reason it kept getting delayed. Not good. Since the time I first thought of this one 2 bloggers have stopped and I wanted both of them to see this Thank You post. Won’t happen now. Both of them had problems with what they called ‘haters’. Those are bullies who harass other bloggers, constantly giving them a hard time, causing a lot of stress. They were after me as well. Talking with Ilona when she was still here, we found that both of us had some of the same haters giving us a hard time, not wanting to leave us alone.
I will admit, I nearly stopped blogging myself. It does cause a lot of stress having to deal with these people. We need to stand up to these online bullies. Don’t let them stop you or others. The thing that kept me going and not stopping is YOU! My faithful readers and friends. Your comments encouraged me a lot to keep writing. And I will. Thank you all so very much for all your faithful support and wonderful comments! I am going to share just some of the comments received over the last couple months. I will begin with the 2 bloggers who are no longer here.
From Sophie;

Wow! Steve, I realized I had missed this post when I was going through and reading my saved posts to try to get some of my awards done. It must have been a busy day when I had saved this one for later. I’m so glad I did!!! This was an amazingly beautiful post! I am totally in awe at how trusting the mother deer was with you and especially to bring her sweet baby dawn to meet you!!! I truly believe you have a God-given talent. To see the beauty in nature and for that nature to see the beauty in you! Thank you for sharing these encounters with us! You have no idea how refreshing, calming and magical this is in an otherwise chaotic world! God Bless friend!
From Jyoti

Wow this page is awesome. God’s magnificent masterpiece with scripture and fun facts. This is a great way to entice us with nature.
I only picked out a random selection of comments and they are listed in no particular order, except the first 2. I wanted to show that so many enjoy the way I write, even though others say my writing is no good and that I should change the way I write. If I changed then it wouldn’t be me writing. And I wouldn’t enjoy it. Then I would quit for sure.
So once again, a great big THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU!!! Not only for reading and commenting, but for your wonderful support all the way!!

A big hello to everyone on this somewhat chilly, but beautiful, fall day! Kind of sunny and cloudy today, not much wind at all, and the sky just seems to be such a rich blue today, awesome really! When the sun hides behind the clouds it is a bit chilly, but when the sun shines it really is quite nice for a fall day. I like when the sun shines, even if it’s not hot, it just feels so much better. Still, cloudy days have their purpose too. There usually is a lot of clouds this time of year. The air is cool but the water and ground are still warm. So it seems that clouds form even when it’s not in the forecast. But it was a wonderful day for a walk to the river once again. However, that’s for another time.
I know you are waiting for part 2 to begin so…let’s see, where was I? Oh right, the bear had just looked in the cellar. Not a joyful thought. It didn’t look like a large bear. But if it fell into the cellar even a small bear could be rather dangerous. Especially since there is no way out of here. And if it was a young bear with a mother around, well, that I didn’t even want to think about. But the bear decided to wander off with boards creaking and cracking with every step he took. Whew. That was really too close.

Now, back to the problem of getting out of here. The sun is set and it’s starting to get darker all the time. Good thing we still have about an hour after the sun sets before it gets dark. I checked the shelves that the canning jars were sitting on. I moved them. Another dusty crash as they fell apart. So much for using that as a ladder. Hmm. Those boxes. I wonder if they are solid enough. I went over to that corner and moved one box. My heart started beating so fast, I think I could have jumped out of that cellar right then. Bones! Did I mention a skeleton last time? That was supposed to be a joke.
But I saw bones behind those boxes. I really did not want to see this. I moved the rest of the boxes. An entire skeleton! I told my legs it was time to move. They didn’t get the message. What would a skeleton be doing down here??! This is not really fun. It looked complete, about the size of a young child. I really did not want to stay there. However, how to get out? I almost wanted to touch it to see if it was real, but that’s not a good idea. Especially if it is real. Sigh.

It’s getting darker all the time so I had to do something quickly. I took the boxes over to the cellar door opening. There is only 3 boxes. Not quite enough. I moved part of the broken stairs over first. Then I stacked the boxes on top. I used another board to steady myself so I could climb onto the boxes. Not too bad. Working good. I’m on the top box. The whole stack wobbles. Then down I go once again! That hurt. I moved things around a bit and tried again. This time I was able to grab the frame of the door opening and pull myself out. I quickly moved off that old floor. What a relief to be on solid ground again.

It was nearly dark by this time. I drove to the police station to report what I had found. I told them I wasn’t sure if it was real or not since I didn’t touch it. They were glad I hadn’t disturbed it. Turned out to be a teaching aid, a doctor had once lived there apparently. That was good to know however. But that was my first time finding a skeleton in all my exploring. But not the only time. That’s another story however.

The pics today are all mushrooms from my walk yesterday through the forest. They all had popped out of the ground overnight and most were gone today. I have no idea what varieties they are, I know nothing about mushrooms. Well, I hope you enjoyed this little adventure. Take care everyone and God bless!
