For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
NOT AS MUCH AS YOU
Listening to the birds awhile,
Looking at a baby’s smile,
They have much beauty, this I know,
But not as much as you show.
The blossoms of a cherry tree,
And mighty waves of the sea,
Sunsets with beauty all aglow,
But not as much as you show.
Robins singing with lovely note,
Butterflies that seem to float,
Flowers with beauty as they grow,
But not as much as you show.
Towering mountains reaching high,
The calming blue of the sky,
Lush beauty in the vale below,
But not as much as you show.
The eagle flying in the air,
Flying high without a care,
All of nature has beauty, though
Not as much as you show.

Hello everyone on this beautiful sunny Thursday! I was planning to get my post out nice and early today. Didn’t happen. As you can tell. When I turned on my laptop this morning at 5:30am there was no internet connection. Okay. There have been a lot of problems with our internet lately. Going off for short periods of time. Right while I’m doing something of course. This time the internet went off shortly after 5am. I did a reboot of the modem. Several times. Nothing. Okay. So I waited a bit to see if it would come back on. Nothing. So after an hour I decided to phone.

I really do not like calling these places. Press 1 for this, 2 for that. Several times. Finally I got to speak with a real person. Amazing. Guess they ran out of possibilities for recorded messages. So I’m happy now. After the usual questions, he decided we should do a factory reset. I know that one. Had to do it before. Twice actually. Okay. Did that. Still nothing. He disappears for awhile. After 15 minutes he comes back. It’s a general outage in your area, he says, we will send someone out to look at it. Only took a 35 minute phone call to discover this piece of info. Obviously I was the first person to call in. Glad I wasn’t paying for the phone call. He was located some 2,000 km away in the southern part of our province.

And in a different time zone. That was hard to get across. People living down there don’t realize there are 2 different time zones in this province. Amazing how many whole countries are in the same time zone. We can’t do that in one province. But Ontario is big. Larger than most countries. You can fit 2 countries the size of France in Ontario, with room left over. Think of how big Canada is then. It’s the second largest country in the world. We just don’t have very many people. And distances between places are long.

Back to the internet. It took another hour and it was finally working once again. Except I couldn’t connect. I did that factory reset. So now I needed the security code to connect. Like I’m going to remember that. I knew it must be written down. Somewhere. Found some numbers. Three different ones if fact. None worked. Naturally. By this time I’m thinking I will need to phone back. I really didn’t want to do that. Finally found another number. It worked! This added another half hour to my time. Technology hates me, it really does. It’s been a while since my last technology post. Things have been going good. Until this morning.

Oh well. On the plus side, I did get some cleaning done. Plus I got my garbage ready for pick up, early on that one for a change. Plus I was able to work on my pictures for a while, don’t need internet for that one, fortunately. And Muffin and I had some play time, but that’s a normal one anyway. So the time wasn’t a total loss. Just had to switch things around a bit. If things don’t work normally, then look for a non normal way to do things. As I said yesterday. Look for the positive side in every situation. If you can’t see anything positive, then make something positive. It’s there. It’s just that the negative blinds us so we can’t see the positive.

Well, not what I was planning to write about today, but it works. So just kind of a mix up bunch of pictures for today as well. We had the police around the other evening. Four cruisers and 8 officers. They arrested several young men. I have such nice neighbors. You don’t walk around here after dark. Thank you for stopping by, I hope you are having a great day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
