For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
As we were driving to the airport, Kat contacted Sky again and told her not to continue towards the airport. Aari said it would be too dangerous to sit around at the airport for a half hour or longer waiting for the jet to arrive. It would be a perfect time for Rico to attack us again, and we would be in the open. We don’t want to sit inside the terminal building as that would endanger innocent people, which we definitely don’t want.
So, it was decided to take kind of a round about way to get there and in the process pick up Kat along the way. Plans were made to meet at a specific location in the parking lot of a supermarket. Kat would quickly transfer to our van and we would, both, then drive away fast. It is daylight now and everyone is hoping that Rico and his men would be hiding somewhere and not willing to come after us.
However, Rico went straight home and discovered we had taken Sienna and his new sex slave, Kitty, which turned him absolutely red with anger. He was now more determined than ever to track us down before we had a chance to leave the country. He knew the best way for us to leave was by plane, so he and his men went directly to the airport.
But, before they arrived there, one of his men spotted our vans in the parking lot, just as Kat transferred to our van. Suddenly there were an assortment of cars, vans and trucks, 15 in all, turning into that parking lot. Both of our vans left in a hurry, deciding to stay together for better safety. We put out a call to the others to rejoin us quickly because Rico had found us.
Sherry was driving our van and she must be the wildest driver we have now! “Okay Fluffy,” she said, “time for Plan D getaway!” ‘Me Fluffy, go straight to Parktown Street, not far away, then turn left.” We did that and everyone thought the van was going to tip. One van in Rico’s group did flip right over! That took care of several men anyway.
It might also get the police involved, which may or may not be a good thing. It’s hard to tell whose side they would be on in this situation. So we just figured it’s best to stay away from them. I say “we”, but I’m out of the picture for now, still being unconscious. Kat has stopped the bleeding now, it had already slowed down as Sky was applying a lot of pressure to slow the bleeding.
The wound was right up near the shoulder and unless Kat can do something, I will likely be left with a permanent injury. But what I need right now is blood, unfortunately Dawn has been wounded too seriously, so she will not be able to share her blood with me. So, that leaves only Sky, and she is a ghost, so how can I get blood from her?
Assuming she even has blood now. There are some things about our ghosts that we still don’t know and I have promised not to order them to give their health information to us. “Fluffy say turn right quick!” Suddenly we spun in a complete circle, but we didn’t tip over and we made the turn. A truck and Rico’s group was not so lucky and it ended up rolling several times, finally staying upside down.
“Hey Sherry,” said Sky, “how come you still have Fluffy, I thought you found a cat.” “Well, Carine wanted a cat too,” she replied, “and since she was the only ghost without a cat, it just didn’t seem right for me to get one first. So I let Carine have him. I’ll take the next one.” “Aww, you’re a good girl Sherry,” said Angel. “Hey, watch that,” said Sherry, “I’m a Bad Girl, remember?”
Everyone laughed. It can be good to have some laughter during rough times, and right now we need it. “Can you do something for his arm Kat?” asked Sky, “Or will he lose the use of that arm?” “I think it will be okay,” she said, “though it may not be quite as good as before.” Suddenly there was another sharp turn and the van was on two tires that time.
“I wish we had our own van,” said Sherry, “they are more stable and are better on those sharp turns.” “I wish we had one too,” said Amerie, “I am pale like a, um, a…sheet!” “You were going to say ghost, right Amerie?” asked Angel. “Well, um, maybe, uh, sort of, a little,” she replied, somewhat embarrassed. “Suzette,” said Kat, “look in my backpack and pick out a few gifts for Rico.
She quickly did so and Chloe opened the back doors of the van. Rico’s lead car swerved quickly out of the way, but the car behind his had the gifts land right on the hood of the car, destroying the whole car and causing the one behind it to crash. Then the rest of the team came along, pulling in behind Rico’s men, then driving up alongside and shooting out the side door.
Soon Rico and his remaining men turned off, quitting the chase. But, did they go back home or did they take another way to the airport, hoping to get there first? I guess we will find out. It was now time for us to make our way to the airport. When we arrived our jet was already waiting for us, with Aari and his team just going on board. We quickly drove up to the jet and everyone boarded the plane.
Soon the jet was heading down the runway and we were in the air, heading away from trouble. Hopefully, anyway. We still had wounded people to deal with, including me. Kat asked Al, the pilot, to hook us up to Jennifer. We had a large screen in the main room and Jennifer soon showed up on that screen.
“Steve needs blood,” said Kat, “without it he will not make it home alive. But Dawn is too seriously wounded and she is the only one with the right blood type. I can help her, but it will likely be too late to help Steve. Sky is the only other one, but you know the dangers involved. Without Sky’s blood, Steve dies. With Sky’s blood he has a 50% chance of survival, but we still don’t know what that means exactly.
We need your approval and Bridgette can start the blood flowing.” “Do it Kat,” she said, “at least Steve has a chance this way. But remember the rule, not if it means Sky will die.” “Nothing to worry about Jennifer,” said Kat, “Sky won’t die from this.” Bridgette then began to let Sky’s blood flow to me…

We were within sight of our vans, but Manuela and her men had surrounded them, so, it was time to fight. Amerie was in charge, Sky was helping the Bad Girls at first while Angel stayed with me, Sienna and Kitty. I could tell that I would soon be unconscious, so I decided to call Sky back, I needed her close to me right now. “Sky,” I said as loud as I could, but it was still faint.
I was sure she wouldn’t hear it, but she was suddenly kneeling beside me. “The girls need some extra courage,” I said faintly, “once they see a huge lion they can’t kill, they will run fast enough.” “Courage on the way Steve,” said Angel, and she leaped into the air coming down as Courage the lion. She ran quickly into the fight just as Rascal fired two more flares into the dark night sky.
Just as she was changing into the lion I had said for her to get Manuela, not to let her escape. “I guess she wouldn’t have heard me,” I said faintly. “She heard you Steve,” said Sky, “you forget she has amazing hearing.” “Yes, that’s true,” I said, “she does.” “How does she do that?” asked Sienna as she continued staring at Courage running toward the fight, “I thought Courage was a real lion!”
“Courage is a real lion,” said Sky, “but a special lion from an Angel.” “You’ll have to ask Steve about it sometime,” said Sky smiling. “Are all of you “ghosts” able to change into animals?” she asked again. “Nope, just Angel,” said Sky, “it would be nice though.” Meanwhile, back with Aari and Kat. “We need to pull out fast Aari,” said Kat, “Steve is hurt bad and Manuela has them surrounded so they can’t get away.”
“I hate to let Rico go free,” said Aari, “but Steve and the others are more important. We do have some dead and wounded to deal with.” “Right, we will take them with us,” said Kat. It did slow them down a bit, but they didn’t want to leave anyone behind, not even the dead, or Rico would likely get rid of them, and that we don’t want. Now, back to our fight with Manuela.
Amerie sent the cats in first and they rolled out from under all the vehicles at the same time and they were shooting their slingshots immediately, then back to hiding under the vehicles. Then they did this a second time. It should be noted that they waited until the flares had died out so it would be dark again. That was not a problem for the cats, they could see fine, but Manuela and her men couldn’t see very well.
But, after doing this twice, the men were aimed and ready for the third attack, which never happened. Amerie was too smart to send the cats out a third time, instead she and the Bad Girls attacked right after Rascal fired two more flares. That brightened the area around the vehicles making it easy for the Bad Girls to pick their targets.
It also made it harder for Manuela’s men to see the Bad Girls hiding in the darkness. Then Courage showed up and began to attack! That shocked everyone since that huge lion kept killing them and yet they couldn’t kill the lion, no matter how many times they shot at him. Then Courage spotted Manuela running away and gave chase.
Manuela was no match to outrun Courage, so she was soon caught and killed. “Sky, I need you now,” I said, “you can help me, will you help me?” “I would help if I could Steve,” she said crying, “but now that I’m a ghost, well, my blood is not the same anymore. But Dawn can help.” However, I didn’t hear what she said, I was now unconscious.
“Wake up Steve,” she said gently, “you need to try and stay awake.” However, I didn’t wake up. Amerie, a couple of the girls and Courage came back to tell us it was safe now. The remainder of Manuela’s men fled once they saw that she had been killed by Courage. They put me on Courage and took me across the field to the vans.
The cats were checking them for bombs but didn’t find anything. Monika, Dawn and Katresa had been shot, but only wounded. Dawn was the worst of the three, and that was bad, she is the only one that had my blood type, aside from Sky. This made Sky more worried than ever. Before we left, Sky sent another message to Jennifer, from Rascal to Muffin.
Then she communicated with Kat to let her know how things were going with us. She told Sky not to worry, that we wouldn’t lose Steve. “I wish my blood would work,” said Amerie, “I would give it all to him.” “I will make sure that Steve knows that Amerie,” said Sky, smiling. We still had a little more than an hour before our jet would arrive. What are we going to do with all that time.
We have about half an hour driving time to the airport, so we will go straight there. Kat told Sky to meet them at the airport, it would save time so she could start working on me. The jet we will be using for our escape has it’s own little medical room. We also brought one of our nurses along, Bridgette, who is also our vet.
She stayed behind on the jet for safety and she would look after any wounded on the way home. We did have wounded this time, plus 3 dead from Aari’s team, though 2 of those are from Mandar’s Team 8. Aari himself was wounded this time as well. Meanwhile, back home, Rascal’s second message came through to Muffin.
Eeeeeeek! Eeeeeeek! She screamed and once again Misty was carrying her to Jennifer upstairs. “This is not good Misty,” said Jennifer, “Dawn is the only one that had the same blood type as Steve. If she is badly wounded, they won’t be able to take blood from her. She might need some herself.”
