3-2-1 Quote Me Challenge!

Well, hello to all my faithful readers today! It’s a beautiful, sunny, spring day here. Though it is a bit cooler than it has been this past week, but it’s still nice.  It’s SPRING! That’s the main thing.

I was tagged again by Huguette over at https://huguetteantoun.com for this new challenge!  Never tried one of these before and it’s all about ATTITUDE.  Thanks so much Huguette for tagging me for this, it is appreciated for sure.  Please check out Huguette’s blog, she has a very honest and open approach and doesn’t mind saying things straight, which really is a good way to be.  She also lives in a nice warm place.  Have I ever mentioned that I like warm places?  I live in a very cold place.  Don’t ask why, I have no idea.  I could have moved years ago, but for some strange, unaccountable momentary loss of my brain, I decided to stay here.  Very strange indeed.  Anyway, do check out Huguette’s blog and let her know I sent you.  Well, maybe not.  Whichever.

Rules: 3.2.1 Quote Me!

  1. Thank the Selector
  2. Post 2 quotes for the dedicated Topic of the Day
  3. Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3.2.1 Quote Me!’

Okay, I’m not going to do things as fancy as Huguette does, she uses all kinds of pictures and cartoons.  I don’t.  Sorry about that. Well, okay, maybe one.  This one is my quote.  Can I do that? Do I have to use someone else’s quote? I’m going to use mine anyway.  No, I didn’t copy someone else.  It’s mine. Honest.  I’ve had this one for a long time.IMG_2435

It does have to do with attitude.  Just doesn’t say attitude.  Doesn’t have to use the actual word does it?  Sigh. All these rules.  This next one isn’t mine.  But it’s not bad.  It doesn’t say attitude neither.  I’m terrible.  Sorry about that.

When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.         Henry Ford

Okay, all I need are two of them.  Whew.  Good thing.  I do have lots of quotes.  Trying to find them is the problem.  I need to get things sorted out better.  I need to throw things out.  This little place is just too crowded!

Now my 3 nominees for doing this little challenge;

There, that wasn’t so bad, was it? I survived, I hope you did as well.  And I hope you all will have a great weekend and God bless!

Why Give Up?

Hello dear readers on this beautiful, sunny spring day. It’s one of those days I would love to just sit out on the deck with my chipmunks, squirrels and birds.  And just relax.  Enjoy that sunshine warming me thoroughly.  Maybe later.  But as my title says, I’m giving up.  That’s right.  Things are just too hard.  My goals are too difficult to obtain.  My dreams are, well, absolutely impossible to realize.  Nothing works out.  Everything is too expensive.  Everybody else gets it and I never do.  I just can’t stand it!

One of my 6 squirrels who visit each day. This one is Skitter.

Ever hear anyone say those things?  Or something similar?  Okay.  It’s time to sit down and breathe a bit.  Take a deep breath.  No. I am not giving up!  I am not quitting! I’m trying to make a point.  I know.  This is not normal for me.  Steve’s Country is here to help put a smile on your face each day.  But, hey, this is part of that.  Giving up, quitting, should not be part of our thinking.  All too often we look at all the bad points. We dwell on the negative.  Stop.  This is something that we do need to give up, to quit.  Stay away from the negative.  Here is a couple of quotes;

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Many of life’s failures are from people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.

These are quotes from Thomas Edison.  Although he didn’t invent the electric light bulb, he is the one credited with perfecting it and making it commercially viable.  And it is said that he tried over 3 thousand different ways to make it work just right.  He didn’t give up because it was difficult, or because it took too long, or was too expensive. He kept trying until he succeeded.  I wonder how many times we have given up just when one more try would be enough to achieve our goal?  Or our dream?  I have a dream right now with lots of difficulties in the way. If I concentrated on the difficulties I would probably want to give up.  But it’s far better to look at the positive points, and there always is some, and that will keep us going until that dream is realized. Never give up!  Keep pressing on and looking ahead.

Finally a male purple finch allowed me to get close, not quite perfect though.

You know, sometimes we tend to look at problems, but instead of doing that, go for a walk.  Look at the things around you.  Listen to the birds singing.  Stop and watch that robin running around on the ground as it looks for worms and insects for it’s lunch.  Sometimes they have to run around a lot, but they never give up, they keep going until they finally find what they are after.

And here is the female purple finch.

I enjoy going for a walk, especially in the early morning when it is so quiet. But I like to go for a walk anytime really.  On one route that I used to take, there was an orange cat that would always meet me at a certain spot.  He was a tough looking cat, obviously spent a good deal of time outdoors, but he did have a home.  He would always come running to me as soon as he saw me.  All he wanted was some attention.  And he would always purr so loudly.  One of those little blessings that can perk up our day.  If we are willing to look.

Not everyone’s favorite, though not nearly as bad as people think. A yellow bellied sapsucker.

Stop and admire the flowers along the way.  There is amazing beauty in flowers.  There are thousands of varieties of daylilies, I think I read recently that there are now over 70,000.  And each one is unique and beautiful, yet all are daylilies.  Consider that for a moment.  It’s like people.  We are all human.  But we are all unique and beautiful.  And everyone is important.  No one is useless.  Remember that each day.  And your day will be far better. You will be able to start your day and handle the challenges that will come along.  Never give up.  Never quit.

And, of course, my guard kitty, Muffin.

Your worth consists in what you are, and not in what you have.

Okay. A bit different today.  Thank you for joining me on this beautiful spring day and I hope you will join me again next time and until then, enjoy your day and God bless!
