Sunshine Blogger Award!

Hard to believe that I received another award!  I never expected to receive any but here I am with my third award now, well, I guess 4 if the blogger book tag is included.  Thank you very much Huguette for this nomination, though I really don’t think I deserve this one considering what it’s all about.  Huguette has a wonderful blog over at https://huguetta.wordpress.com

Huguette is a strong, intelligent woman who doesn’t mind saying what’s on her mind, which is a good thing.  Many times we hold back when we should speak out. Huguette lives in the wonderful warm country of Lebanon. I definitely count it a privilege to have met her. Don’t forget to check out her blog!  It’s warm in Lebanon.  Year round.  Sometimes it’s hard to believe that there is such places.  No -40C temps.  Amazing.

The Sunshine Blogger Award is peer recognition for bloggers that inspire positivity and joy.  So why I am getting this?

Here are the rules for this one;

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award in your post/or on your blog.

Huguette gave some tough questions so Muffin will help out;

If you knew you will die tomorrow, except crying or whatsoever, what you would do or say?

Tell my friends (which wouldn’t take long) and family that I love them, make sure my will is up to date and MEOW! Right, find a good home for Muffin.

Why you’re following my blog?

Told you they were tough questions.😂 Simple, I enjoy it!

What is your best post you read on my blog and you said wow (if any).

She’s trying to get me in trouble now.  Actually I think it would be, A Bird Without Wings in the Big Jungle parts 1 and 2.

Do you believe in love?

Yes.  Okay, they are not all tough, this one was super easy.  I like easy.  I also like warm places.  Okay, it’s not part of the question, I just tossed that in for fun.

If you won the lottery today, what’s the first thing you do?

Move to a place that is warm year round.  Hmm, another easy one.

Do you forgive a betrayal or adultery if you’re married?

Well, I’m not married so guess I can’t answer that one.  But yes anyway.

Tell me why someone should be close to you or be friend with you?

Now this is a tough one.  Hmm, good question.  Well, um, uh, there must be something. This might take some time.  Okay, I don’t believe in short term friendship, so with me you have a friend for life.  Of course, that could be a reason not to.  Hmm.  MEOW!  Oh right, I love cats.  I’m fun.  Really.  And honest, I don’t lie to people. I can be trusted, all the time.  My love is also forever.  I’m compassionate.  I’m stupid.  No wait, that’s a point against.  Sigh. I’ll stop.  Such a tough question.

What you really love to read, that you can’t stop or ever feel bored?

I love reading all kinds of books but I guess the only one that I never get bored is the Bible.

Have you ever been rejected or experienced one sided love? Describe it please. (oh that was a joke, don’t describe it please)

Muffin’s turn. Meow, meow, mew, meow! She said no.  I say yes. That wasn’t hard.

Have you ever been with 2 persons at the same time? (why would you do that hahha)

I have often been with 2 and more people at the same time.  Especially at birthday parties.  That was a lot easier than I thought.

Describe the person of your dream, physically and mentally / emotionally.

You have to be joking Huguette.  Are you trying to get me in trouble?  This one goes to Muffin.  She says, meow, mew, MEOW!  That means she likes the landlords cat, big white fluffy cat!

Now I’m supposed to come up with 11 questions. Right. I think this is the toughest part, now I have to think, headache coming up.

  1. If you could only choose one pet, would it be a cat or dog?
  2. If you had a choice would you move somewhere else?
  3. Do you like sunrises or sunsets better?
  4. If you were stranded on a desert island, what 2 things (not people) would you like to have with you?
  5. If you had an all expenses paid vacation for 2 weeks anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  6. What one musical instrument do you like best?
  7. What do you enjoy doing on a rainy day?
  8. Do you enjoy walking in the rain?
  9. Okay, describe yourself in exactly 5 words.
  10. Are you a morning person or night person?
  11. If you were given the opportunity to stay for a week in an ice hotel when the temperature outside is -40C, would you do it? Yes, we have ice hotels, they are totally made of ice, including the beds.  They are only good in the winter though, they get a bit wet in the summer!😂

Okay folks, easy questions, I told you I was nice.  Or did I?  Doesn’t matter.  Now another hard part, picking 11 people.  That really isn’t easy.  But I’m going to make it easy, like I have seen other people do, you are all nominated this time.  So if you want to do this, now’s the time to get it with super easy questions.  Next time the questions might be hard.😂😹

Thanks again Huguette and thank you everyone for taking the time to read today!  Muffin and I really do appreciate your joining us on our little journey!  Tomorrow the walk continues, until then I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

More pictures will be shared again tomorrow as well. The featured image at the top is our lake at one of the many marinas around here. This one is actually a small one.

Wednesday’s Wanderings…Walking.

Hello to everyone on this Wednesday afternoon!  Going outside without having to wear a jacket is so nice.  Listening to the many birds singing.  Squirrels chasing each other.  The last of the snow melting.  Sun shining brightly.  Well, it was anyway, the clouds have moved in and blocked that warm sunshine.  But it is still beautiful out there.  So nice to hear the robins singing again.  That is definitely a real spring song.

There is nothing quite like a nice spring walk.  One time I decided to follow this old trail I discovered.  There really wasn’t much of a trail, but what was left of it was still visible anyway.  Off I went.  There were no leaves out yet so I could see for a long distance through the trees.  The only sound for the first part of my walk was the sound of my footsteps.  Then I heard some rustling in old leaves.  Sure enough, it was a squirrel, looking for something to eat.  Then I heard some birds singing up ahead.  White-throated sparrows, a fox sparrow, even a warbler, my first of the year.

Two male goldfinches, this way you can see the front and back at the same time.

I came to some muddy part of the trail.  Hmm, some bear tracks, big ones at that, and fresh.  Probably made the previous night I assured myself.  I kept on going.  Then a large crashing through the trees.  It startled me I must admit.  But it was only some deer running away from me.

It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon.  Overhead a majestic eagle soared higher and higher. I kept on walking.  Soon I came to a beaver pond.  I noticed close to the shore a nice freshly cut stick, just perfect to walk with.  Who knows, it might come in handy.  I didn’t know just how handy.  After about half an hour I came to a small clearing and it looked like a pile of old lumber over on one side of that clearing.  So I started across to check it out.  Maybe there will be something interesting lying around.  As I got closer to the pile of lumber I suddenly heard a cracking sound.  I looked down to see I was standing on some old wooden door or something.  Then a very loud crack and down I went.  Fortunately I had that stick with me and managed to put it across the opening.  It was a cover of an old well.  And my feet were in the water.  Sometimes these wells can be quite deep.

One of my new female squirrels, which until today would not come near me, and now she sits on my knee.

And cold.  That water was definitely cold.  Now I’m thinking how long this stick can hold me, it’s not exactly large.  The sides of the well were lined with wood and were very slippery.  So that didn’t help me much to climb up.   Well, guess I will hope that stick will hold me so I can pull myself up.  I’m just about at the top, then, another crack.  The stick.  This isn’t good.  At the top of the well was a large metal hook which I quickly grabbed.  Then I was able to pull myself the rest of the way up.  Nice to be back on firm ground again.

Here we have a female goldfinch, a little braver than the males.

Well, at least I knew where the well was, now I don’t need to worry.  After all, they wouldn’t have two wells.  I mean, why?  At some point in the past some people lived here.  But why?  There was really no reason for living so far out, certainly wasn’t farm country.  Oh well, probably never know the answer to that one.

The sun is trying to come out again.  It’s one of those days that is just so nice.  I will finish my little walk next time, which will be on Friday.  Until then, enjoy the rest of your week and God bless!
