Sunday’s Sunny Skies…

Sunday’s sunny skies…suddenly disappear beneath the gray clouds.  Many more birds are arriving from the south but unfortunately are staying just out of range for any good photos.  But I keep trying.  Like in all things, it’s necessary to keep trying even if not successful at first.  Don’t give up because of minor, or what might even seem to be a major, setback.  Keep pushing ahead until the goal is reached.  Many people give up too soon, just another little try might be all that is needed for that success.

One of my female squirrels. I’m going to need to name these critters.

There really is a lot of birds around this afternoon.  I keep stopping my writing to go out and get some pictures only to come back in with nothing.  Just one of those days.  Perhaps tomorrow that perfect picture will be right there in front of me.  That’s what happens sometimes.  Never give up, it could be the next one.  We never know unless we try.  And I will keep trying even if there are some difficulties in the way.  That works with anything.

Here is a little something to think about: The Bank Account.

Imagine that you had won the prize in a contest.  Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400 into your private account, with rules that read:

1.Everything that you did not spend during each day would be withdrawn from your account.

2. You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

3. You may only spend It.

4. Each morning, when you wake, the bank opens your account with another $86,400 for that day.

5. The bank can end the game, without warning, at any time. It can say, “Game Over!” and close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted, right? Not only for yourself, but for all the people you love and care for. Even for people you don’t know, because you couldn’t possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every penny, and use it all, because you knew it would be replenished in the morning, right?

This “game” is actually real, to each of us.  Each of us is already a winner of this prize.  We just can’t seem to see it.

The prize is TIME.

Each morning, upon waking, we receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of Life.

And when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is not credited to us.

What we have not used up that day is forever lost.

Yesterday is gone forever.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve our account at any time without warning.

So, what will we do with our seconds?

Those 86,400 seconds are worth so much more than $86,400.  Think about it, and remember to enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

Start spending.  Wisely.

And don’t complain about growing old!  Some people don’t get the privilege.

Looking forward to flowers blooming again. This daylily is from my landlord’s garden last year.

Well everyone, thank you so much for joining me again today!  Please stop in tomorrow and we can enjoy a cup of coffee together.  Until then, enjoy the remainder of your day and God bless!

Can It Actually Happen?

Yes, it can!  It’s actually not legal to feed birds in this town!  Unless it’s done a certain way.  That means the bird feeder must be 10 feet (about 3 meters) off the ground.  Okay.  I made sure my feeder is 10 ft and 1 inch off the ground.  No problem. Well, yes, there is still a problem.  I like to take pictures of the birds.  Not many birds will come to a feeder that’s 10 feet high.  Most of the birds are ground feeding types.  I like to take pictures of them.  However, since I do not have a big telephoto lens I must get close to the birds.  So, I use bird seed spread on the ground to attract them in close so I can get a nice picture.  Not now.

A little junco, not very colorful perhaps, but very friendly, they will hop around my feet, and on my feet, even on my shoulders.  One of my favorites because of this.

Seems I have a neighbor that doesn’t like the fact I feed the birds.  So…ring, ring.  He calls the authorities.  Stomp, stomp.  The officer in charge comes and says no more feeding on the ground.  Doesn’t matter why I’m doing it.  I’m only putting out a few seeds to attract the birds, I don’t put out a lot.  However, it’s against the law.  I say, there are lots of people breaking the law, why are you not stopping them?  Don’t have the time is the answer, he only looks into it if there is a complaint.  Hey, that’s discrimination.  Tough.  He wouldn’t say which neighbor.  I know which neighbor.  I only have one.  Sigh.

When I was taking pictures of my collections, Muffin just had to get in front of the camera.

There is a $500.00 fine, first offense.😲  Goes up from there.  For feeding birds.  Amazing really.  Don’t pay the fine, go to jail. 👮‍♂️ Is this really happening?  Sigh.  Just a warning this time.  Fine next time.  Actually it’s not fine to pay a fine.  Sigh.  So…that means it’s going to be a bit tougher to get some nice pictures this year.📷  Sometimes I think I should move.🤔

So nice to have the robins back with their cheerful spring song.

Okay.  Breathe deep.  Relax.  Nice and calm.😂 Oh well.  Why count the leaves on the tree if you’re swimming in the lake?🙃 Another nice spring day.  A little very light rain this morning.  The sun is trying to break through the clouds now.  It’s mild.  Very nice.  Hmm, maybe if I lie on my stomach and cover myself with a brown blanket the birds might not notice me.  Then they will come close enough to get a good picture.  Probably get attacked by those huge man eating spiders.  They like to live under my deck.  I don’t care if they want to stay there.  But they keep wanting to come up on the deck.  That I don’t like.  I could be sitting there feeding the chipmunks and one of those critters could come crawling up my back.🕷  Heart attack time!😲

It’s still okay to feed the chipmunks and squirrels.  As long as I’m holding the peanuts. That’s okay, that’s what I do.  It is so nice to sit on the deck and listen to all the birds singing.  So many different species around now.  There was a red-winged blackbird here a couple days ago.  I could be on the deck, didn’t scare him. I brought out my camera, off he went.  This happened 3 times.  No camera, fine.  With camera, gone.  It’s like he knew.

Rusty coming back for more peanuts.

I will keep this shorter today.  Thank you so much for dropping by and reading my little adventures.  I will be back again Monday, perhaps with Muffin too.  Until then, enjoy your Easter weekend and God bless!
