For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It is another cloudy day with light snow and quite mild. We have a temperature of 17F (-8C) this morning and it should rise to 25F (-4C) before starting to drop quite a lot by tonight.
These up and down temperatures have me in terrible pain today. It could be something else, other than the weather that is affecting me, hard to tell sometimes.

But it is always nice to sit back and look at summer’s beauty, even in the midst of snow and cold. I am sharing two pictures today though both are the New Guinea Impatiens.

They are a wonderful plant for shady garden locations. These pictures are from one of our local parks this past summer. I hope you enjoy them. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone and God bless!

Good morning everyone! It is cloudy and cool this morning, with a temperature of -6F (-21C) and we are supposed to get about 2 inches (5cm) of snow today, with another inch (2.5cm) tonight. But it will be mild today and tomorrow, then we return to colder weather on Monday. Oh well, it is still winter. Today is the first day of February and tomorrow is Groundhog Day, one of the biggest days of winter.
For us in the north, groundhogs don’t come out of their burrows this early. It’s still winter after all. They usually don’t come out until early April, sometimes later. Speaking of having break-ins. You know, that’s when someone breaks in to your home, usually to steal something. Though not always. One time I came home and discovered the door wasn’t locked.

Scramble, the red squirrel, in winter.
Now, I always lock my door when I go out, and I check the door just to make sure it is locked securely. By that time I had enough experience with break-ins that I did not want any more. I was curious so I began to look around. A word of caution right here, in a situation like this it is a good idea to call the police and let them check your home before you enter.
The would be thief just might still be inside, and that thief just might be dangerous. I admit that I did not do that, but I should have done so. Anyway, I was looking around and discovered that there must have been two people, who were very dirty. They had taken a shower, leaving the bathroom in a real mess, including leaving several dirty towels scattered around.

My good friend, Junior, on a winter day in January 3 years ago.
Seems like those towels shouldn’t have been so dirty after a shower. Maybe they tried wiping off some of the dirt before they showered? Hard to say, I guess. They had also used my tablet to access several porn sites. I had just changed the password for it and had it written down on a notepad beside the tablet. They were unable to use my laptop however, so that was good.

Here he is again giving me a nice side profile.
They also made some sandwiches and ate some cookies, plus they finished off the juice I had in the fridge. Mostly they just made a big mess, but they didn’t steal anything, which was kind of odd. However, I am glad they didn’t steal anything. Well, it is snowing now, and it has gotten very windy. Time to get my lunch ready, have a great day everyone and God bless!
