For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Well, Matt and his Knight Riders arrived late in the afternoon, a total of 25 men. Plus there is Team S2 that is waiting in the city, just in case, and there are 12 of them. We know the Black Jackets have 18 men, but they would be no match for Matt and his team. Kat and her Wildcats are also in the city waiting to see if they are needed as well. There are 19 of them. It was a rather tearful reunion for Rock, his mom and his sister Theresa.
Rock’s brothers also have flown home upon hearing the news. The two of them want to go after that gang by themselves, but Rock has managed to hold them back, so far. Meanwhile, back to us for a moment. I had told Jennifer that I sensed trouble and it had to do with Katresa. “I sense danger too Steve,” she said, “also concerning Katresa, but it’s not close yet.” “Yes, that is what I felt too,” I said, “perhaps someone is planning to look for her.”
“Very likely,” said Jennifer, “possibly her former parents.” “A good thought for sure,” I said, “but for now we will keep things quiet so we don’t upset her too soon.” “Agreed,” said Jennifer smiling. “I wonder where Beryan is?” I asked, “She is never this late for my massage.” “Oops, that is my fault,” said Jennifer, “I forgot to mention it to you, she has a headache from all this new paint. I told her to take the day off. Maybe Dawn could do it today, she knows how.”
Jennifer called Dawn and she was in our room within about 3 minutes. Back to Kat and her Wildcats. They had just entered a restaurant for dinner when Kat saw someone she knew and right away she went bouncing over to a table with 5 men. There was an empty chair, however, and Kat landed perfectly on that chair looking at the man to her right. “Hi Mr. Trapper,” she said in her little girl voice, “you sure do get around.” “Well, Miss Kat,” he said, “so nice to see you again. These are some friends of mine.”
“Better friends than last time, I hope,” she said. “Yes, these men are good guys” he said, “we have known each other for a long time. I see you have all your little friends here with you too.” “Yep, sure do,” she said, “there’s 19 of us now.” “Um, you here on vacation?” he asked, “Or do you have another reason?” “Now Mr. Trapper,” she replied, “why would we come here for a vacation? We would go to someplace warm and tropical and beside the ocean where we can swim and play in the sand.”
Just then 4 men wearing black jackets came in. On the back of the jackets it said plainly, ‘Black Jackets’, with a skull and crossbones. “Why are you looking at those men Miss Kat?” asked Trapper, “You don’t have some thoughts about fighting them, do you?” She then told him what had happened. “Miss Kat, don’t get involved with those guys,” he said, “they are ruthless, they fight dirty, and they will always hit first. That is why people are scared of them. Best to let your brother Matt and his friends take care of them.”
Kat has told Trapper that Matt is her brother, that way it’s easy to explain why she is always around when he is around. “Mr. Trapper,” said Kat, “I could handle those 4 by myself and without using a gun too.” “Perhaps, but there could be more of them coming,” he said, “and they are associated with another bigger gang called the White Cowboys, another mean group of men. The leader of the Black Jackets is Troy, he’s a bounty hunter.”
“What’s that?” asked Kat. “He goes around looking for people to bring back to other people who have hired him. And he is very good at what he does, apparently he never fails in his hunting. Right now I heard he’s after a young woman from Montreal, Canada, that has a strange name, um, oh yeah, Cricket.” Kat sent a message to Jennifer and I right away. Then she nodded to Angel and the two of them went over to the table with the Black Jackets.
“I sure wish she wouldn’t do that,” said Trapper. “Why the beard, Mr. Black Jacket?” asked Kat, “Trying to hide or something?” Then she took his fresh, hot cup of coffee and poured it on his lap. He jumped and yelled! At the same time Angel had picked up the coffee cup of the man right across from him and threw the coffee in his face. He yelled and tried wiping the hot coffee off his face with his hands. The first man grabbed Kat’s arm fast and threw her down on the table and had his gun out and put it to her head.
“Now we go for a drive, babe,” he said. The other man tried to do the same thing, but he discovered he couldn’t move. Then Angel hit him with her elbow on his cheek, grabbed his arm and twisted it around his back. Meanwhile, Kat grabbed her man’s arm with her hand and started squeezing it. The man yelled more and let go of Kat. Then she kicked him, knocking him flat on his back, dead. Angel did the same with her man.
Then Kat said to the third man, “you die!”, and he did. The fourth man looked terrified, especially as he saw Kat and Angel disappear right before his eyes. He then got up and ran out, jumped on his motorcycle and rode off, very fast. No one else in the restaurant saw Kat and Angel do anything, except the Wildcats and Trapper and his friends. But they couldn’t remember what had happened. Kat was back sitting next to Trapper. “I wonder what happened to those men?” asked Kat.
“No idea, Miss Kat,” said Trapper, “but please stay away from those Black Jackets, they are a mean bunch.” “They sure don’t look very scary to me Mr. Trapper,” said Kat, “you staying around long?” “Um, maybe a few days,” said Trapper. “Good, maybe I will see you again,” she said, “come back here for breakfast at 8, I’ll pay for all of you.” Then she gave Trapper a little kiss and went back to sit with her Wildcats.
Meanwhile, back to Rock and his family. With all the helpers it didn’t take long to pack up and move everything over to the new house. They rented a large truck so they could move all at once. Matt wondered why Theresa would want such a large house since she is single. The house had 10 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a large kitchen, dining room and huge living room. It is a 2 and half story house with the top floor all one room.
That is where the Knight Riders will stay for now. Penny and Brook also went along this time so they could help Theresa and her mom. It was a bit hard to understand why no one else bid on that house, it was in immaculate condition. Although the size might have turned some people away, and the fact the entire house was painted black on the outside, including the garage and garden shed. That ‘shed’ was 500 square feet in size and had a rather interesting feature to it…

The professor looked the student over and replied, “I think you will have lots of problems on the final.”

A tornado hit a Kansas farmhouse just before dawn one morning. It tore off the roof, and picked up the bed on which the farmer and his wife were sleeping. By some miracle, the cyclone set them down unharmed in the next county over.
The wife was sobbing uncontrollably. “Don’t be scared, Mary,” her husband said. “We’re not hurt.”
Mary continued to cry. “I’m not scared,” she said between sobs. “I’m happy…this is the first time in 14 years we’ve been out together.”

Last year I entered a marathon. The race started and immediately I was the last of the runners. It was embarrassing.
The guy who was in front of me, second to last, was making fun of me. He said, “Hey buddy, how does it feel to be last?”
I replied: “You really want to know?”
Then I dropped out of the race.
