For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Team 5 was completely disbanded for now since only 6 were left anyway, plus they all needed to be checked out carefully, the same with Team 4 since both have been working closely together lately. Mandar had sent his own Teams 5 and 6 over to help Aari since he will need more help if his plan works for finding Angelica.
Chantelle had handed in her resignation too, but Baldwin not accept hers either since she still had 3 years on her contract and a faultless record. She relieved her of her duties on Team 5, however, and recommended to me that she should join the Investigators, but in a non active role for now. I agreed with that, we can always use extra help at home anyway.
He also recommended that Amber joins us too, but in an active role. I said that would also be fine, providing she wanted to join us. She said that would be great. But right now she is at the clinic and Li Jing did not like the looks of her x-rays on her back. She had been injured, more than just some bruising. Mandar’s doctor was still there and when he saw it, he said no active role for her right now.
She needs at least 4 weeks rest he had told me, and even then she might be left with permanent back problems. I had Galyna talk with her and to let Amber know she will be staying with us no matter what. Poor Amber has had a hard year, and not just with Brad treating her roughly. She lost both of her parents and 2 younger sisters this year when their house burned down.
Apparently the cause of the fire was faulty wiring. In a house that is just 4 years old? Something did not sit right with me about that one. When this is all over, I think we will have to do some checking on that. Since there is no active police case, then we can easily get involved, especially if we have permission from Amber.
Just to get things started I asked Annelie to do some checking on that fire and the investigation surrounding it. Plus I wanted the autopsy reports on all 4 of the family. Amber is just 22 and now she has no family, her best friend Chantelle was badly beaten by people she should have been able to trust and now she may have permanent back problems from a man she should have been able to trust as well. Little did I know where this was going to lead us.
Meanwhile, back in Sweden. “We have her dad!” said Aasta excitedly. Aari called the Fat Man right away and told him where Angelica was hiding. She was in a building just down the block from where the Fat Man had his office. Aari thought it would be best for those two gang organizations to fight it out together, rather than us getting involved.
However, they would be close by just in case Angelica decided for flight instead of fight. Fat Man had his men ready and sent them off as soon as Major called him. He was absolutely jumping with excitement over finally getting rid of Angelica. When his men went out, Walt and a couple others brought Dolph to see the Fat Man. Dolph was not sure what was going on, but did not suspect that they knew about him. He found out quickly enough though.
“Get rid of the body,” said Fat Man to Walt. He and the other men did so immediately. Angelica tried phoning Dolph to tell him to kill the Fat Man right away, but Fat Man answered and told her that Dolph would not be coming home anymore. He also told her he would be waiting with anticipation for her to be brought to his office. Then he laughed quite happily at the thought.
Sure enough, in about half an hour Fat Man’s men brought her in to him. She just stood in front of him, smiled, and said good bye to him. Then there was a large explosion that came from his office. In their haste to bring Angelica to the Fat Man, no one bothered to search her for weapons, and she had plastic explosives attached to her body and with one press of a button it was all over, and no one survived the blast in that office.
The police had also been notified and were present, coming into the building just as the explosion happened. Fortunately the blast was on the top floor, 10 floors up, so no one below was injured. But the remainder of Fat Man’s people were arrested, as were the remainder of Angelica’s people, which were not very many by this time.
Although it was already spreading that the Major was still alive and working for the Fat Man, the news also spread quickly that he and Clarence died in the explosion at the Fat Man’s office. There was even DNA evidence to prove they were in there, evidence that had been deliberately planted when Major and Clarence had been visiting with the Fat Man the day before. Major, I mean, Aari, likes to think ahead, he has always been like that.
To Be Continued.

Good morning everyone! It is another cloudy, but mild, day here. Yesterday it was 39F (4C), which is very nice for us in December, and it should be close to that today as well. It is 36F (2C) right now. I can see a strip of clear sky to the far south of us, but here it remains cloudy. I have finally finished my table and put the final coat of paint on it yesterday.
It is looking nice, at least I think so anyway. I like the Blue Depths color I used (formerly called Colonial Blue, but it had to be changed. However, I digress). It actually looks a bit darker than it should, due to the light in the kitchen. Florescent lights just do not show colors properly. I do not like florescent lights. Not at all. But I digress. I also find them hard on my eyes.

Winter time!
Which I also do not like. But I continue to digress. Anyway, it is not a fancy type table, you know, not the dining room type table. But it was not meant to be. It is a kitchen table. What I like to call, ‘farmhouse style’ table. It fits nicely with my collections. I should have more of my kitchen collectibles in the kitchen, except there is nowhere to put them in the kitchen.

Yes, I admit, it does look beautiful. And cold.
So where do I have my kitchen collectibles? In my bedroom. Yes, I know, it is an odd place to put them. I would like to change that a bit. Perhaps put my old games in the bedroom and the kitchen stuff out here in the living room. At least they would be closer to the kitchen. And it would be nice to have the games in the bedroom.
But, I do not have enough shelf space in the bedroom for all the games. That creates a problem. Oh well. Time to put up my Christmas decorations today. I normally like to do it on December 1, but it just has not really felt like winter these days so I kind of held off. But today is the day anyway, after all, it is only 18 more days to Christmas. I bought a new Christmas tree this year, twice as big as my old one.

But I do love walking the winter path to the river.
Which is not saying much since the old one is only a foot tall and the new one is 2 feet (60cm) tall. I would have gotten a four foot tall tree, but I just was not sure what Muffin might do to it. This one is still more of a table top variety which is nice. Speaking of plants. A second geranium is starting to bloom now. And…my Christmas cactus is getting buds!
I just bought it last Christmas, and it produced several new leaves over the summer. But this is the first time I have had a Christmas cactus rebloom for me the following year. It is just a small plant still, but noticeably bigger than last year. One bud should open up soon. I have never been good with any kind of cactus, I always overwater them.

With the sun shining through the trees on a bitterly cold day. Come to think of it, there is much to be said for summer.
I am late today, slept in a bit, guess I needed that extra sleep after the last few days. I am feeling back to normal again today finally which is very nice. Thank you to all of you for the nice wishes for me. Well, I should go get some lunch and dig out my decorations. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.
