For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
While things seemed to be going okay so far for the team, trouble was close by. A judge looking over the report on Scorpion and Butcher said there was not enough evidence to hold them, so he ordered them released. The police did so, but reluctantly, and decided to follow the two men. Rock then called Sky before Nelson had a chance to call him, and he told her about Scorpion and Butcher.
Sky was furious when she heard. “How much evidence does he want?!” she exclaimed, “there was more than enough evidence to hold them without bail. That judge must be working with them too.” “That is what I figure also,” said Rock, “so we are going to follow Scorpion if he heads back to Germany. He still has a couple more places there and we will give him a few headaches for a while.”
“Good idea,” said Nelson, “make sure he knows you are around at all times.” “Yes,” said Sky, “but first go to Margaret’s house and look for her body. We have a fake Margaret here who said she killed the real grandmother and took her place before we met the real one. Check her house real good, her body must be there unless this Margaret had help to get rid of the body.
Oh, and one of the women you freed has been able to talk some, she is a mother of 3 small children and was kidnapped. She also knows where some bodies of other women were hidden. We have to check that before calling the police though, just to make sure her memory is correct.” Now Rock was furious after hearing all this news, so was the rest of the team.
Then off they went to Margaret’s house to search for her body. It did not take them long, her body was in a freezer in the basement. Rock and team left quickly and Sky called the police to investigate. They found the body and agreed to let the team keep the fake Margaret until we could find out where Ransom lives. Rock and team came back home to refresh themselves and relax for a couple of days.
I was doing better, but not well enough to join the action. Rock took Mac and Clarence with him this time, so all the men were along. He left Annelie, Sky, Galyna, Sigurbjorn, Tracy, Aasta, Tiffany and Aubrey behind with me and the others. Nelson, of course, stayed behind too as our advisor. That gave Rock’s team 15 members, plus Team 5 from Baldwin Security, which is another 10 members.
Team 4 from Mandar Security stayed behind to help protect us at home. We are not taking chances this time, especially not knowing anything about this Ransom and how strong his organization might be. Annelie began searching through the two computers taken from Butcher’s office and the one from Freda and Reggie.
She wanted some evidence of that judge being on their payroll. And perhaps Ransom might be mentioned on there as well, with an address if they were real lucky. That gave Rock a thought, so the first item on their list was to find Lucky. He did get away the night of the big fight and he will likely team up with Butcher right away. So he did.
Rock watched and it did not take long for Lucky to come out by himself and when he was about to get in his car, he heard a familiar voice. “Remember me Lucky?” said Kat, “I am the ghost.” He turned when she said that and Rusty growled at him. “Wh, what do you want from me?” he asked nervously. “Just come with me Lucky,” she said smiling, “I will not hurt you, unless you try to do something stupid.”
He went along ahead of her to the van across the street and got in. Kat got in behind him. Rock was there and began asking questions. “Hey, if I answer, I will be a dead man,” he said, still nervous. “And I can kill you right now,” said Kat, “but help us and we will give you enough money to leave the country and a bit extra to help you start over.”
“That Ransom,” said Lucky, “he can find me anywhere, he has spies all over.” “Just tell us where to find him,” said Rock, “and you will not have to worry about him again.” Later they drove him to the airport and gave him a first class ticket to Canada. Then Rock gave him a briefcase and told him to leave.
“Oh Lucky,” said Kat, “make sure you go all the way, it would not be healthy to stay here. And do not lose that briefcase.” “I need to change my name to something else,” he said, and off he went. There was nothing in the briefcase, but when he arrived in Canada a man met him and they exchanged briefcases. At the hotel Lucky checked and there was $50,000 in his briefcase…

Hello everyone! Well, August is off to a surprising start this year. But, right now the sky is blue, mostly, hard to tell if that is a light layer of cloud or smoke. I will say smoke, though I cannot really smell it right now. It is a warm day, but not overly hot, but the humidity is high which makes it feel a bit warmer. For me, this is nice weather, though most people here consider this too hot.
I am still finding some strange insects out there, got a pic of a really cool one yesterday. I think it is a species of ichneumon wasp, but I have yet to identify it definitely. Yesterday I found out that I would be moving again the end of this month, or Sept. 1 to be exact.

A Common Eastern Bumble Bee, covered with pollen, flying toward a delphinium flower.
Not much time to pack really, considering all the stuff I have in my various collections. It will also end my bird feeding and other critter feeding since I will be living in an apartment building this time, and on the 6th floor, which is the top floor. Somehow I doubt that I will be spending much time on that balcony. Heights and I do not really get along too well anymore. Minor detail.
I will definitely try to get down to the river before I move though, since I will be much too far away to try it after I move. Things will be much different than they are now, that is for sure. But, it is for the best. The chipmunks have sure been busy today. I have been feeding them more peanuts than usual. Have to get rid of them all this month.

One of those huge Northern Paper Wasps flying away from the flowers. I had one bump into me today.
I had stocked up to last until the end of Sept, so now they get two months in one! Funny to watch them, sometimes 5 at a time show up and they all have to wait their turn, although Coffee still tries to fight it out with Pocket, but Pocket still wins.
He is number one around here and Coffee is in second place, GPS is third, Scooter is 4th, then it is the 3 babies. I named one of them Stubby since he has now lost half of his tail. Hard to tell the other two apart, so I have not named them yet. And those little ones just do not like to sit still long enough to get a picture of them.

Another one of those Orange-belted Bumble Bees.
Basically they look like the adults anyway, just smaller, which would be hard to tell in a photo. But I still want a picture of them anyway. Wow, it is late today, time to get out for more pics while the sun shines. Sorry for all the insect pics, it is their time. Have a great day everyone and God bless!
