Fantastic Friday.

Hello to everyone, I’m glad you were able to make it over here today and join me once again.  It is a nice, mainly sunny day.  There are some white, puffy clouds around too and when the sun disappears behind one of them the coolness of the air is still very noticeable.  It’s a cool spring.  Very cool.  But the sun still provides some very welcome warmth.  And my deck is in the sun all day so it can be quite pleasant to sit there and watch the birds and squirrels.  And sometimes the chipmunks.  Well, one chipmunk still comes anyway.  Rusty doesn’t give up easily.  But he is much more nervous now with all these squirrels around.IMG_2980

But just listen to those birds singing.  The chorus starts around 4am.  It’s still dark.  But that doesn’t bother the birds.  It’s spring.  And they sing, loud and clear.  Far and near.  I shared one of my crazy poems yesterday.  I will share more, maybe even today.  Some asked if I can write normal poems.  Sure.  I can write any kind of poem.  It might not be good.  But I can do it.

Poor Muffin.  It’s cleaning day.  She does not like that.  She hates the sight of a broom.  She cowers.  Then she runs and hides.  No.  I have never hit her with a broom.  Or anything else.  But her former owner obviously did.  Muffin was an abused kitty.  If you want to know more, go to my home page and check out Muffin’s Mewsings.  She is getting better, and it’s been five years now.  She also HATES the vacuum cleaner.  When I turn that on, she’s gone.  Disappears.  Completely.

She does like dusting.  She loves to ‘help’ with that.  She goes tiptoeing through all the very breakable stuff.  Never breaks anything though.  Which is more than can be said for her owner.  She claims it’s my fault for being clumsy.  I say it’s because I’m jumping to try and save something from destruction, only to knock something else onto the floor.  Crash.  So much for that 120 year old plate.  So who needs plates?

The squirrel was just outside the window munching on sunflower seeds.  Muffin was on the inside eagerly watching.  The squirrel spotted another squirrel.  The chase was on.  Poor Muffin.  She joined the chase.  Didn’t work out so good.  She forgot about the window.  And my plants.  One plant went flying.  Plants are not meant to fly.  Down it crashed to the floor, well, carpet.  So much for the 140 year old bowl it was sitting in.  And it had to happen after I watered the plants.  So the soil was wet.  Wet soil on the carpet is harder to clean than dry soil.  Leave it until it dries, I was told.  Right.  You don’t have a cat.  That likes to play with dirt.  Not a good idea.  Cleaning one spot is easier than cleaning the whole carpet.  Sigh.

It’s a beautiful, sunny, spring day.  Fantastic.  That’s my word for it.  It’s been a fantastic week really.  I’m getting excited.  My birthday is coming.  Yes, I know, it’s next month.  Normally I don’t get excited about birthdays.  But this year is different.  Sorry, that’s a secret.  Can you handle another crazy poem?  You’re brave.  But if you insist.

I Think I Thought

  • I think I thought I went to bed,
  • All that happened was I hit my head.
  • But really now, I sure did sleep,
  • While blinking lights around me sweep.
  • I really thought when I was a kid,
  • I’d grow up tall, everyone did.
  • But then I found, just wasn’t so,
  • ‘Cause somehow I forgot to grow.
  • One day I dropped my coffee cup,
  • Bent right over to pick it up.
  • Hit my head on the cupboard door,
  • Ended up sitting right on the floor.
  • Some people say I just forget,
  • But it isn’t true, I’ll prove it yet.
  • MEOW! Chomp! AAAA!!! No, not that!
  • I will never forget to feed my cat.
  • Why do these things happen to me,
  • Not just once, but two or three?
  • Must be time to drink more coffee,
  • No better way to make me happy. (at the moment)
  • I think I thought I was a poet,
  • But that changed, wouldn’t you know it?
  • When someone said, ‘hey, that’s bad’,
  • I think I thought I have been had!

    Muffin’s first owner mustn’t have been a human. I really hate this kinda people.
    For me only those are humans who proved themselves to be like that.

  4. Oh Muffin and the squirrels were naughty today 😁 hope at least Muffin was happy
    It’s sad to hear any creature is abused, I read Muffin story and I can imagine her fear 😕
    Beautiful birds and glad to see both Sylvester and Rusty😊
    Who needs plates indeed 😂 I like to break things actually but none has value so I don’t care
    Another nice poem 👍 simple and clever 😊 you should consider publishing them separately I’m sure people will enjoy them 👍

    • Thanks for coming over Huguette! Some days are busier than others, though much to be said for the quieter days! Muffin would have been happier if she could have caught that squirrel, she always forgets there is a window in the way!😂😾 Glad you liked my little poem, hmm, I could do them separately alright, never thought about that. Have tried yesterday and today to get a picture of one of the red-winged blackbirds, there are several, but every time I go out they hide in the shrubs.😕 Sigh. Have to move fast, they will be heading to their breeding sites soon.📷😀

      • Well move fast Steve but don’t break the plates 😁😁 hope you will have good shot eventually and well we love Muffin 🐱 but hope she’ll not catch the squirrel 🐿 so we keep seeing them as well 😊

      • Muffin is only an indoor kitty so no chance to catch the squirrel unless she finds my glass cutter!😂😹 I don’t want to lose Muffin, especially with the weird neighbors around here.😠Oh well, I have lots of dishes and Muffin hasn’t broken one yet, well, except the plant bowl which was actually an old mixing bowl, but that’s not really a dish.🤔 I have broken a lot in the last few years! Sigh.😂😀

  5. I’m one satisfied person today so you won’t be able to make jealous of your wildlife encounters. Hmph, we had a very warm, sunny day today haha 😅
    But you did make me feel to cry for Muffin, the poor girl. I would be traumatized too if I was her.
    And I love your I think I thought. Funny. Haha well at least now you know that you have to make sure to remember to feed the cat when haha 😂

  10. Rapper. You are a rapper. I’m laughing so much I need to get some fresh air and pick some dandelions…🌞 you could publish these separately-children’s book?

    Any spider sightings?🕷 yesterday I was gushing green worms on the pear tree. Thought of you! Haha! My hands were green and gooshy.

    You can write any kind of poems but good ones? Maybe a bad/naughty one? Is that what you are hinting?
    Muffin seems pretty well adjusted these days. Love and kindness can do wonders 💜 God bless…

    • Thanks for reading N.Z., great comment too! I think it’s still too cold for the spiders. The only good point about the cold weather!😂 But one of these days I will need to go out and do my first spider spraying under the deck where they like to live. My poems are only for kids??😲 Thanks. I think. Sorry, no naughty poems from this guy. Bad, as in not good, you know, not worth anything. Terrible. That sort of thing. Try hair spray on the worms, works good. Not so messy. Enjoy your evening!😃😺

        A terrible poem, eh? Ooh sounds exciting! “It was a terrible day…” scary crazy adult/kid’s poem.
        Hair spray-clever. I eventually shook the tree and hundred of worms came raining down—they are everywhere—little green terrible silk worms. Then I sprayed. We’ll see if the tree makes it.

        Enjoy your weekend as well. Can Muffin have a cat-cookie from me? What is her favorite treat? 🧚‍♀️

      • Those little worms get bad in this town too, but only parts of the town, every year. We don’t see them on this side of town though which is nice. Actually Muffin doesn’t like treats, I’ve tried her on several but no, she just prefers her regular food. First cat I have had that didn’t like them. Oh well. Thanks N.Z.!😃😺

      • Ah well, she’s a happy cat and her needs are met!
        Much gratitude for the animals. Ours make us laugh and smile every day. We also have a small flock of chickens for eggs. Now that’s been a real learning experience caring for chickens! (Suburban girl in the country-ha! But it is in my blood) Wonderful lovely creatures!

        Well, Steve it’s always a delight in your country—thank you for another lovely visit. See you and your friends next time! 🧚‍♀️

      • Wow, fresh eggs like that can’t be beat! I had some friends who had chickens and those were good eggs. I just might be back tomorrow, not sure yet, if not it will be Monday anyway, enjoy your evening!😃😺
