Good Morning From Steve’s Country.

Hello everyone on this very beautiful and mostly sunny morning!  It is a very nice day so far, though there is thunderstorm warnings out now.  Muffin won’t like that.  She hates thunderstorms and usually hides under the bed until it’s all over.  If it’s just a small storm she will stay curled up at my feet.  But it’s so quiet and peaceful out there this morning.  A great morning to sit on the deck with my coffee and feed the chipmunks and squirrels.  They found out quickly I was back and came looking for peanuts the next day. The birds are all gone, except Sir George.   He came back the next day as well.

Here is where we begin our little walk.

Just taking a short walk through the trees across the street we can see quite a few different wild flowers.  Everything is so lush and green now.  If only it would stay like this year round.  This would be a perfect place to live.  Unfortunately, it’s a little different than that.  Oh well. Can’t change the weather.  Would be nice though.  I thought we would have something a little different today.  I will show you some of the flowers blooming around here now.

This is wild yarrow, mostly found in white, but can also be found in a light pink.

This is the same trail that we walked down a while back.  But there are more flowers blooming now.  A lot of people think that is boring.  But, if you are discouraged or depressed, just feel down a bit, then I would suggest slowing down and taking a look at the beauty of flowers.

This is wild lily-of-the-valley, found in abundance around here.

There is an amazing variety of flowers.  Both garden flowers and wild flowers.  I will show some of our wild flowers today.  They are not only beautiful, but the scent of some is just amazing as well.  People need to take some time and pay attention the the natural world around us.  To be honest, the material world can cause us a lot of problems, such as anxiety and depression.

Here we have a beautiful Canada anemone, the flower is nearly 1.5 inches across (3.7cm).

But the natural world is where we can find relief from a lot of these problems.  Take time to stop and look at those flowers when you are out for a walk or run.  It is okay to stop once in a while to look at things.  Then you can start up again.  It really will make a difference.

Here we have the spreading dogbane, an odd name for a beautiful wild flower, delicate pink and a very lovely scent.

They come in all sizes and colors.  Unfortunately the battery on my camera decided to quit working so I missed a few of the flowers.  So we will have to go back there again.  I am trying to get pictures of as many of our wild flowers as possible this year. Why?  Because I want to.  No other reason really.  Well, except for this, I enjoy the beauty of flowers.  But I don’t want to pick them which normally kills the plant.  So no more flowers.  So taking pictures of them is a good way to enjoy them.  Then other people get to enjoy the flowers too.

Here we have a yellow avens, a common variety in this area, very nice bright yellow.

Well, I guess that ends our little visit for today.  Thank you everyone for joining me once again and I hope you have enjoyed it here today.  I hope that you all have a great weekend and God bless!

  3. Steve, you are correct about the healing qualities of the natural world. Especially when we pay deep attention to flowers or vegetables or creatures. The fascination – for me – eliminates whatever background worries I bring along with me. Some of your pictures today are quite beautiful. Have a great day.

Hope the thunderstorm wasn’t so bad, I hate them too not only Muffin 😕 and glad to hear Sir Georges still there along with the squirrels and chipmunks 😸😸 good to have things back to normal and I’m sure there’s a new day today since this post belongs to yesterday 🌞

    • Thanks so much Huguette for reading and for the great comment! Yes, I need to go back and get those pictures while the flowers are still blooming, probably this afternoon. Lots of lightning in that storm but no rain, which is bad, that can easily start forest fires.😬 My landlord doesn’t want me to feed the squirrels and chipmunks anymore, she was quite upset that I started again when I came back.😲 She also doesn’t like the fact that Sir George is back, she hates gulls.😂This should be an interesting week! Hope your day has been good so far!!😃🌞😺

      • My landlord is a bit different and she can change every few months so it is hard to know what to do sometimes. Oh well, one problem solved and 3 to go, did try to solve another today, didn’t work too well, so will try again tomorrow. On the plus side, I had a great walk down to the river today and took a lot of pictures,📷 just getting ready to check them all. It was a fantastic time though, nice and peaceful.😁 Just what is needed after all the negativity of the morning!😂😃🌞😺Enjoy your evening!

      • well the way I see it, the solution is with the bears and wolves but you don’t like this 🙄🙄 oh well, then deal with her 😁
Glad you had a great time and could get rid of the negativity! Hope the rest of the day will be great as well. Good night 🌞😸😸
