NOT AS MUCH AS YOU

Listening to the birds awhile,

Looking at a baby’s smile,

They have much beauty, this I know,

But not as much as you show.

The blossoms of a cherry tree,

And mighty waves of the sea,

Sunsets with beauty all aglow,

But not as much as you show.

Robins singing with lovely note,

Butterflies that seem to float,

Flowers with beauty as they grow,

But not as much as you show.

Towering mountains reaching high,

The calming blue of the sky,

Lush beauty in the vale below,

But not as much as you show.

The eagle flying in the air,

Flying high without a care,

All of nature has beauty, though

Not as much as you show.

  11. Steve this poem is so wonderful! You should do a book of poems. And maybe even a book on the Musings of Muffin and Steve, with your photography! Lorraine at Blind Wilderness is working on her own. Have you considered this? I really hope you do! 😸😸😸

    • Several people have told me this now, even doing a book of just my photos. But I really don’t have many poems right now. I did have over 400 at one time and I let several people see them, people who I greatly respected and they all said the poems were terrible and I should toss them, so I did, most anyway. The ones I kept were washed away when my apartment flooded, I had them out to put onto my computer but only got 4 of them done. So I only have some more recent ones, not many. I have also been told I should write about Muffin and I and my dad and I, so many adventures we had together. I’m just not sure if it would be popular enough to do it. Maybe i should do a survey!😄😸I do like the thought though, thanks for mentioning it!😃😺

      • I think most on here would agree that you won’t need a survey Steve! I think people that know you on WP would definitely buy anything you got published! I would! Seriously! I think you should do it, even if it was just for you—but something tells me that it wouldn’t be just you reading it! I am so sorry someone did that to you! That’s a shame. 😢 You could even do short stories of the ones of your dad and of Muffin. I think you are going to fill a book full soon!…I’ve got poems I’ve kept from a teen put up somewhere in storage. I wouldn’t show those…alot of them are too dark for even my taste now!

      • Ha! I totally understand. I think about my first posts—wanting to throw up when I’d hit publish. And poetry is just—well it’s just different isn’t it….
