For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
SUMMER
Summer is here with all its green,
Making such a relaxing scene.
Mixed with the calming sky so blue,
Makes a wonderful day ’tis true.
Summer is what I really like,
Great to walk or taking a hike.
All of summer with its beauty,
Sights and sounds so very lovely.
The sparkling lake and sunny sky,
Such wondrous beauty, my oh my.
The tiny bird singing its song,
Loud and sweet, so lively and strong.
The grass so green, tender and soft,
Butterflies wings held aloft.
Flowers blooming without a care,
Beautiful scent filling the air.
Tiny droplets of morning dew,
Silvery webbing not a few.
The bees checking out each flower,
Freshness from a summer shower.
There’s all of this and more I know,
Summer’s beauty all these do show.

Hmm, 91 sounds so much nicer than 75 for some reason. Oh well. Summers are so short. Here at least.ππ

it does, but not when humidity makes it feel 105. This is the problem.

Have at it. Well do house swap for this season. I don’t mind hanging with Muffin and walk around nature, without melting. LOL!

Muffin would probably like that too, she definitely likes women better than men.ππΉπ

Thanks, I think. That is one reason it took her so long to accept me. She was an abused kitty, obviously by a man and she ended up at our cat shelter, where I adopted her. She turned out to be a very loving cat though, but she still hates men.

Oh, now I see. She’s still learning t trust. Very similar to humans. When trust is broken, it is hard to accept others. But she allowed you to care for her, shes open to trust.

Yes, that’s absolutely right, she does find it hard to trust men, women are fine. Took time, but she did finally trust me, now she is just a normal lovable cat. And people can be the same way for sure. I hope you have a wonderful weekend Tiffany!

July is probably our biggest month for thunderstorms. I had to move fast, that rain was coming in the windows, bunch of water inside now. This is a bad storm, Muffin is going crazy now.π²π¬πβ

We have had more thunderstorms in the last 2 weeks than we usually get all month, and some of them have been real bad like today. That one lightning strike was very close, maybe 100 feet away, I’m surprised our electricity didn’t go off.π€π€ͺπ

This is really not summer! Hope it will get better and the sun will shine as it should be πππ

Usually we don’t get such bad storms unless it is much hotter, this is rather odd. I think the storm is nearing the end, good, now I can open the windows again.π Yes, I need sun to get good pictures while summer is still here!πππ·

Hi Huguette, yes today should be nice and sunny. Last night we had another storm and there was 2 lightning strikes nearby,π²β one hit a tree, the other hit the rock close to my place, thought the apartment had been hit it should the place so much.π¬ Poor Muffin was not impressed.π But the next few days look like sunny skies but cooler.π Hope your day is going well and I imagine you are looking forward to the weekend!πππΊ

I’m waiting for this thunderstorm to pass, it’s a bad one, poor Muffin was going crazy with this one. Usually she just hides under the bed, unless it’s really bad, then she runs around like today.π²π¬πβ

Oh, send the thunderstorm here!! We need it nowπ I hope it stops soon and Muffin can breathe a sigh of relief then. Animals can really sense things more intensely I think

Ahhh…daily happiness break with Steve and Muffin. I do love summerβhoping we donβt have any major fires this year. Last year was really tough on us. Couldnβt breathe. Skies were dark. Seems like a bad dream now. Especially looking my window this morning and seeing blue skies…how quickly it can change…
Donβt get struck by lighting!! β‘οΈπ₯π₯βοΈ

Thank you so very much Nina!! Your kind words make my day brighter!π Yes, we had some terrible heavy smoke from fires earlier this month. All the rain we have had has helped around here but some of our worst fires didn’t get much rain so they are still burning out of control.π₯ The worst fire is about 200,000 acres now. There has been some amazingly close lightning strikes the last couple days and another storm is closing in now.β‘β I’m still hoping it misses us though!π€ͺHope you have a great day and weekend!!πππΈ

Oh gosh 200,000 acres! Whoa….I just took a look on the internet. Yep. Ontario and Alaska are on fire. Big fire. Big smoke. Sigh…itβs just a matter of time now…
I hope the storms miss you as well. Oh how I look forward to winter again..

Because there is NO SMOKE!!!!! The wood is stacked for next winter and weβre starting on the following years. Tomatoes are just starting to show color and cantaloupes are getting huge! Chili peppers and parsley, kale…not too much else this year. Been working on homes for future blueberries. Oh and the wild black raspberry is ripeningβif I can get to them before the birds do! You must get good fruit where you are? Berries?

The only thing I think of for winter is cold,π₯Ά shoveling endless snow, βπ¨cold, have to stay inside, cold and sometimes even colder.πIt can be good for berries some years, everything is very late this year because of a late and cold spring. Blueberries, raspberries, Saskatoons, chokecherries, pincherries and strawberries. That’s the wild fruits. My landlord has an apple tree but it’s not doing good this year.π³ Chipmunks are a problem for raspberries and strawberries.ππΏ I would love to have a garden again, even a small one would be nice. I was checking for blueberries but there wasn’t much at all, everyone is saying the same thing.π That’s bad, it will bring more bears into town early this year. But maybe I can get a picture then!ππ·π»πΈ
