For a smile as wide as a country sunrise

Good morning on this sunny mild Friday! Well, for us this is mild and it’s supposed to stay sunny with a high temp of 34F (1C). A taste of spring! Even though it will cool off again next week. But it won’t get back down to that bitter cold we have had the last few days and should stay fairly nice until spring actually comes to our region of the north country. When will spring come? Last year the snow was on the ground until the end of April. But that’s late. Normal is when the snow is gone by April 7. Early would be the end of March. Muffin forecast an early spring. That could mean just another 4 or 5 weeks of winter! Now that’s exciting. However, I’m not going to get too excited just yet. Things can change drastically up here and we could still have snow for 2 months.
Enough of snow, let’s have some more summer pictures down by the river…

Here we have a white pelican coming in for a landing to join his friends. These are large birds with a wingspan up to 9 feet (about 2.75 meters). They like to congregate below the dam as there is good fishing at that location.
This group is taking time out from fishing to sun themselves on the rocks and preen their feathers. There is also a few ducks on the water coming to join them.
And a bonus pic from my friend Ross in Italy with flowers blooming so brightly over there.
Thank you for joining us again today and more will be coming later on, including another exciting chapter of 20/20 Investigations, Inc., and part 3 in Insulators in Winter! Happy Friday and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

It was a beautiful, sunny and mild day Simon! Got up to 3C today!!!😃😃😺😺🤸♂️🤸♂️Felt like spring, streets were wet, snow melting. Should get one more day yet before the cooler weather returns. I actually went for a walk outside today, nearly half a km! And no pain! I will try to keep it at that for a while before going farther. But I was happy. I’m off now. Good night!😀😺🌙😴😴

Wow Steve ✨🤗 That was great to hear ✨✍️ Looking forward to see your pictures 😍. And please take things slowly, don’t walk further immediately. Let’s take step by step, keep excersing and practicing and we have a beautiful summer coming ✨😍

Yes indeed. I can feel it a bit this morning in that muscle🤔, though not bad, so I might shorten the walk by a little and keep that up for a week before adding a little more.😀🚶♂️ But I’m going to do it slowly for sure, I don’t want to mess up now!😬😃😺🤸♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️

Oops! See, don’t overdo it, let’s not disturb the injury. We can do this slowly ✨😉

Yep, hard to tell though since it didn’t bother me yesterday. It’s still not bad today, just that I can notice it. That’s why I will cut back a bit. Still lots of time till spring so I don’t have to rush things.😀🤪😄🚶♂️🚶♂️

Precisely Steve, when there is lot of time why rush on to things ✨😉 Take it slow. Hope your day was warm 🤩 Enjoy the beautiful peaceful night. Good night Steve and Muffin ✨😸

Yeah, it would be nice to do, but no flowers for us yet. Yep, it will be nice to see the pelicans again, but that’s a long time from now.

I think it’s just about the same temps right now there to here!

Right now it’s sunny and 30F, so the snow is melting on my deck. The temp on the deck is usually several degrees warmer unless it’s windy.

Thanks so much Correne! Amazingly just as the pelican actually splashed down the battery died, so I missed it! I’m not usually close enough to get such photos. But maybe this summer. Have a wonderful day Correne!
