For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning! I hope everyone is feeling well this morning. If not, then I hope that these nice summery pics can bring a smile to your face today. It’s another cool day here, feeling more like winter again after a couple of nice spring like days. Nonetheless, spring is getting closer all the time. I am really looking forward to walking back down to the river once again. It is just so nice and peaceful down there. A great way to get rid of any stress that might come along. Just roll it up, toss it in the river and say good bye to it. Figuratively speaking of course. Watching all the birds arrive in the spring, should be quite busy at the river during the spring migration period. And hopefully a good time to get more mushroom pics as well.
But for now, some nice bright butterfly pics to enjoy…
Starting off with a nice bright fritillary and it is bright even though this is the underside of the wing which is usually the dull side.
The same butterfly still sitting on some nice bright blue delphiniums.
And then there is this little butterfly, not sure of the name, but still nice and bright surrounded by beautiful green and some wildflowers too. A nice summer scene.
There we have today’s picks of pics for your enjoyment. Have a wonderful day and God bless!

They are so very nice, but we sure don’t get many up here anymore. Used to be so many different kinds. Have a great day Jim!

I wonder how many people have noticed…

Probably not too many. I have mentioned it to quite a few people but they don’t pay attention. Usually they just say “who cares”.

Yep, it seems so many people don’t even pay any attention to the natural world around us.

There you go! Speaking of snow, how much do you have left now?

Patches of it. 3 to 4 inches deep. Some drifts a little deeper! As long as it continues to be above freezing during the day we have maybe a week or so left before it’s all gone. Unless…… you leave that fridge door open again… 😬🤨😉🤠

You’re still above freezing every day? We had -8F this morning, supposed to rise to 25 though. We have about 6 to 8 inches of snow, but hillsides have no snow.

We’re supposed to have mid 30’s and low 40’s this week. Freezing at night again but that’s good! Slow’s the flooding..

We’re supposed to get maybe up to 34 the next 2 days, then back to the freezing stuff until the 24th.

Yikes! It amazes me how much difference a few hundred miles makes in the weather!

Just between here and the border there is a big difference. Their snow is gone 2 weeks before us. But there sure is a lot of open water on the lake already and that is quite early. Although it’s mainly because they are still letting out so much water through the dam.

Ahhh… sure that makes sense. The ice is starting to turn white on the lake now. Another week and it will start to turn dark and disappear! YAY!! It’s unreal how much cold air comes off of the ice when your out walking around the lakes.

Yep, that ice makes a big difference, keeping the air temp colder than it should be. A little more loss of ice here will make a big difference.

Beautiful. I love butterflies.
If I create the right garden we should have some visit. I see some out the front of the house and in neighbours gardens. So here’s hoping.

Yes, butterflies are great to have around and the right flowers will do it hopefully.
We used to have a lot of butterflies in this area but now there isn’t nearly as many.

Hi Simon! I hope you have had a good day! After today and tomorrow we head back to cold weather again for 2 weeks.😬🥶 But maybe the cold is keeping that virus away from this area.🤔 Spring will soon be here🌞 and more walking to the river,🚶♂️ more pictures,📷 more fun.🤸♂️😀😺
