For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Hi everyone! It’s a nice day here with a bit of sun and cloud mixed together and a temp of 23F (-5C). Really not too bad although it is a bit cooler than it should be this time of year, but still, better than it was. Muffin is feeling kind of bad though since her forecast for an early spring isn’t likely to happen now.😿 Early would mean the snow would have to be gone by the end of March. Hmm, not too likely unless things change real quick. However, a few nice treats and she feels better.😺 And of course, playing with her fuzz ball. Wow, does she ever like that thing! She tosses it and jumps after it. I toss it for her to really get her going and does she jump high and catches it and throws it herself. It’s soft so she can grab it easily with her claws and I’m not quite sure how she does it, but somehow she lets go of that little ball and it flies up to 8 feet with Muffin right there to catch it again. It’s really quite fun to watch her play with that.
But now it’s time for our look at some more art in nature with beautiful mushrooms again…
I showed this one once before but didn’t know the name of it. Now I do, it’s called “Gloioxanthomyces nitidus”. It’s a small, slimy mushroom and not really for eating. And it is very bright and glows in the dark forest.
And here we have another different kind of white mushroom and a very nice specimen too. Sorry, don’t know the name or if it’s edible. Well, that’s it for our nature’s art today, enjoy your day as best as you can and God bless!

Nice to hear, Muffin enjoy the game. She is the lucky one.

Yes, that would be quite fun to watch, but I doubt I could keep up with her. When I say she flies around here, she really does move fast! Thanks Renee! Enjoy your evening!😃😺🍄

She definitely is! I’m always amazed at how she can run so fast through some of my breakable stuff, like kerosene lamps without touching anything! Enjoy your day Renee!😃😺🌞☕☕

Great photos !…a mushroom that glows in the dark…amazing…does Muffin bang into things when she plays with her fuzzy ball? Yes, it would be great to see her leap 8 feet into the air !, 😺☕️☕️🍩🍩🍄🐿

No, Muffin doesn’t jump that high, the ball flies 8 feet and she is right there to catch it.😺 She only jumps about 3 feet and catches it.😸 Yes, she does bump into things occasionally,🤔 but it doesn’t slow her down much. 🙄
Thanks so much! Enjoy your evening!😃😺🌙

Cats are definitely entertaining. Callie is two years old and full of spunk. I know what you mean by watching them play with their toys. Since we are staying home a lot more (only outing is grocery shopping), we’re glad to have her. Excellent mushroom photos. 😸🧶🍄🍄☕️ ☕️

Yep, I am now a stay at home type too. Not that I have been going out a lot anyway.
Yes indeed, cats are good entertainers!
Thanks so much Eugenia! Hope you have a wonderful afternoon!😁😸🌞☕☕🍄🍄

Ooh I really like when you can see the underside of the mushroom. And that yellow! Beautiful art.

Thank you so much Nina! Yes, I like getting under the mushroom if I can. Guess I could cut it and that would make it easier,🤔 but I like to leave them where they are.😀 Unless I’m going to pick and eat!😁😸📷🍄🍄

Well that is another story. Just be sure…

I have already identified a couple of really nice deadly poisonous varieties here. I will leave them alone though. Problem is there are a lot of look alikes, that makes it tough. Sigh.

Yep. All mushrooms are edible—once. Yikes! They are so beautiful…

Hmmm, that’s an interesting thought. Eat once, no more grocery problems. But they are beautiful for sure.😁📷🍄
