Good morning and Happy Friday to everyone!  It looks like it will be a beautiful day with sunshine in the forecast and much warmer weather coming our way this weekend.  Perhaps it will bring some good photo opportunities my way.  At least it will be much more comfortable walking anyway, and that is always nice.  I’m hoping that warmer weather will bring in many different species of birds, and hopefully I can get some pics of at least some of them.  There should be more butterflies showing up as well and I might have better opportunities to get pictures of them than of the birds.  And some of our early flowers should start to bloom as well, they are much easier to photograph as they don’t generally move around too much unless it happens to be a windy day.  I’m very much looking forward to summer when flowers will once again be in full bloom and waiting for me to show up with my camera.

But until then there are other photos so share with you from our springtime…

In the above picture is one of our early butterflies, the Eastern Comma.  They overwinter here and emerge once the weather is just warm enough for them.  During the summer they are a bit darker in color.  These butterflies can be found across eastern Canada and eastern US, and they enjoy moist, open woodland settings.IMG_4124

And it this pic is the Spring Azure, a tiny butterfly that is very bright blue on the top of it’s wings.  But like many butterflies, when it sits it does not like to spread it’s wings, no matter how much I coaxed it.  But even the underside of it’s wings is quite interesting.

  6. Good Morning Steve and Muffin! I always love your butterfly pics! So glad warmer weather is headed your way! Our high today will be 81. We have already been enjoying some sunny days! I keep seeing butterflies here, but they won’t stop for a pose! Maybe soon! I did get a video of a bird that I may post… Happy Friday! 😸✌🏼

    • Hi Renee! Thank you so much! You’re a bit warmer than us here, we’re supposed to be 65 today but up to 80 by Tuesday. Butterflies are hard, they rarely like to sit. But here in spring when it’s still cool for them, they will sit still in a sunny place to warm up.

      • Yep, that’s true, I have chased many butterflies without getting any pics of them! After the cold we have had, temps in the 60s will feel very warm for us!😂😹🌞
