Daily Pics #145.

Good morning everyone and Happy Sunday! It is another mild and calm morning here at Steve’s Country. A perfect morning to sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Even Muffin is enjoying this too, although from inside the apartment. But she is so happy these days, her window can be open day and night now and I’m sure she must spend most of the night at the window enjoying her sights and sounds too. I’m sure she probably gets to see a lot of different things during the night. Which is why I keep getting trampled most nights as she runs from her window into the bedroom, onto the bed, across me and up to the bedroom window to see whatever it was she saw. Probably another cat.

Or perhaps those famous bandits with the huge tails, commonly referred to as raccoons. Possibly even that fox that comes around here sometimes, maybe more often than I realize. At least she’s happy and that means I’m happy. Of course if this warmer weather doesn’t continue, then her window will get closed at night and she might not be quite so happy. But I won’t worry about that just now. I am curious though to know what she does see and hear at night. Almost tempting enough to make me stay up one night to find out. Except there might not be anything exciting that night. Sigh. I’ll just sleep at night instead, even if I do get trampled the odd time. I’m trying out the new WP editor today so if things don’t turn out quite right, that’s the reason.

And now for some pictures from my friend Hilary Tan of some orchids from Singapore…

These orchids are simply beautiful and it would be something to visit these orchid gardens in person. And now we will finish off with one more pic from another friend, shown below.

And there we have our beautiful photos for today, I’m sure you will enjoy them. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday, stay safe and God bless!

  1. You do not like cold weather but summers in Canada could be amazing …One of my relatives living in Abu Dabi went to nature to the seaside or a natural resort , and yesterday , the temperatures were between 28 and 40 C or like 90 F and 105 F in May …
In August the temperatures at noon could reach in Dubai 50 C or 120 F but with air conditioning systems available everwhere , it is fine and pleasant to live indoors …
You could get outdoors in the early morning or just before sunset I think …
But in the winter , the weather in Dubai is generally warm or a little bit chilly at winter nights…
Every place has its pros and cons …

    • Yes, I agree, pros and cons no matter where a person lives. Our summers are very nice, though short and for some reason getting cooler all the time. Temps of 28 to 37 were common for several weeks during the summer. But we haven’t been above 30 for years now and usually between 25 and 28. So strange. Still, can’t complain, even if I do like hot weather better!😁

  2. Ilona is still active in Blogging πŸ€” I sent her my ebook no response yet 🧐 How is your new WordPress editor? I’ll make a post about it coming week, or may be about my new job first, and my experience of first time virtual joining in a company 😁 I should watch some nice videos before bed, else I won’t sleep tonight too ☺️ Beautiful pictures Steve, you had posted similar kind from your garden too before right πŸ€” Enjoy the rest of the day Steve and Muffin πŸ€—πŸ˜»

    • Hi Simon, yes I had posted some of my orchids before, not as nice as these ones though, but still nice. I have been practicing with the new editor, I’m going to try some practice posts, not something I will use, but something similar that I can practice properly with. I wish it still had a word count, now my posts will get longer, I have been keeping them under 500 words, except my mystery stories which were 700 words. Now I have to guess, which is not good for me.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ΉπŸ™„
That’s it, try some nice funny videos before bed.
No, Ilona is not blogging right now, don’t think she is planning to come back to blogging, not soon anyway.πŸ˜• She’s a busy woman. It might take a while for her to respond to you Simon, but I’m sure she will.😁
Nice day here, getting cloudy now, 25.😎🌞 Not sure if I will go for a walk, might just relax today at home. Have a good night Simon!πŸ˜πŸ˜ΈπŸŒžπŸŒ™πŸ˜΄

      • Are you skipping a walk 🧐 Come on Steve, you should not do that, don’t forget it today for the walk. I think we are obsessed with trying the new editor πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚ honestly the block thing is really annoying. Honestly why someone wanted a block what is the purpose behind creating this block I wish I can speak to the wordpress designer tell them to buy some brain🧠 😜. Except blocks, now I’m feeling okay to use other features. Now I’m feeling hard to write in Drafts as it keeps switching back to New mode 😳 I’m writing my next long story in my diary 😐 it’s faster than typing 😁 but after realising one day I need to type everything, how dumb I am to do that🧐😐 huh…. I’m planning to write in a word document now πŸ˜‚. Wasting my time more Steve πŸ€₯. Good Night Steve βœ¨πŸ€—

      • That’s how I write my story, in my journal, then I type it out as a post.😁πŸ€ͺβœπŸ“˜ I can think better that wayπŸ˜› and if I want to make changes I can do that before typing it in a post.πŸ€” Easier for me.πŸ™„πŸ™„ Might take more time, but still works better for me anyway.😁 The new editor is more work😳 and takes more time to do things😬 and there is so much on there I will never use.πŸ˜³πŸ€” Oh well. I’ll get used to it eventually.😜πŸ€ͺ Did you try the mint tea?πŸ€”β˜• Did it work?πŸ€” Did you sleep better?πŸ€”πŸ˜΄

      • Thanks for that Steve, Now I’m thinking to write and finish first, because it’s past intro and I don’t want to type four pages now. Not in the mood for sure 😜. Forgot to say, I had it in today morning, and I had it hot, iced is not good for me I’ll get sinus, but I must say I felt refreshing having it hot and I could able to breath good 😍. I’m yet to try at night. I think I should try it cold to sleep at night. Will let you know that too soon. πŸ€— This block editor right, yes it’s pretty tough. Meanwhile let me try my short story challenges through that☺️. Let’s see how far it goes.

      • Try the tea hot at night too, about an hour before going to bed. Don’t try camomile, that would be hard on your sinus. If you can get some raspberry leaves, try those, they can be used fresh or dried.
Hey, we’ll conquer that block editor yet! I’m going to try something today and see if it works. Time to log off for a bit, I’ll be back soon.πŸ˜πŸ˜ΈπŸŒžβ˜•β˜•

      • No no I’m not trying that camomile, I’ll stick with this mint, the plant is there in our house, so it’s easy to prepare. I’ll try tonight or tomorrow. Just busy planning for tomorrow, a big day going to virtually meet my team ☺️ let’s see how it’s going to work πŸ˜‰ I’ll update you tomorrow. Good Night Steve βœ¨πŸ€—

      • Good night Simon, hope you get a good sleep tonight, or today, or tomorrow. Hmm, probably not tomorrow yet, but it would be night even though it’s only noon and the sun is shining at night. I’m getting myself confused again!😡πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚πŸ˜Ή

      • It was a good sleep 😳 vampire night again, but managed to sleep after some focus 😁 cooking my food for the day first day of office, so excited 😍☺️. πŸ’₯
