Well Muffin, we better get a case soon or we’ll be living on the street. We’re 2 months behind on our rent. Good thing we have lots of food anyway. Muffin comes into the living room from the kitchen. Meow, meow?=What you mean, lots of food? I just check, me have food to last maybe a week, you have oatmeal. What’s wrong with oatmeal? I happen to like oatmeal, and there’s lots of it. Meow, meow.=Eating 3 times a day it only last 3 days, that not lots. Need to get case for sure, not want to end up like “skinny”. For those who may have missed our last adventure, “skinny” was a skeleton we found. Meow, meow.=Also don’t like idea living on street, need case soon, or you go get job. Hey, this is our job, we’ll get a case soon, don’t worry. Meow, meow.=Not worried, more like terrified, living on street not good, might get mugged.

We still advertising? Yes, I just paid for more advertising, that’s why there’s no food. Meow, meow.=Finally you admit there no food. Well, that’s not what I meant, we’ll get a case any day now. Meow, meow.=How many times you say that now? Then Muffin moves away from the door. Why did you move?, I ask. Meow.=Mail here. I’m out that door so fast when Muffin said that! Meow, meow.=That why I move, Muffin says to herself, don’t want to get trampled when my human run out door. He get kind of excited about mail lately waiting for new case to come. I think I go lie down and have nap. I come running back in and yell, Muffin, Muffin, we have a case! Muffin pokes her head out the bedroom door. Meow, meow?=Case? What kind of case? I don’t know yet, I just opened the letter. Meow?=How you know it case? It’s a handwritten letter, that always means a case.

Meow, meow.=Handwritten also means they have no money, we don’t get paid, say no, I not pack. Back she goes into the bedroom. Hey, it’s a country estate! Muffin comes out, meow, meow.=Country mean lots of mice, say yes, I go pack. Apparently it’s a very old estate, I continue. Muffin comes out. Meow, meow=Very old? That mean ghosts, say no, I won’t pack. Here’s a picture of the place Muffin. Meow, meow.=Oh, that beautiful place, okay, say yes, I go pack. It says here that strange things have been happening, things disappear…Muffin comes back out. Meow, meow?!=You crazy? Say no, I don’t pack. Hey, there’s a beautiful male cat too Muffin, here’s his picture. Meow, meow!=Wow, he handsome! What you wait for? Say yes, I go pack. While Muffin is packing she calls back to me, meow, meow?=What case all about? We have to find the owners, apparently they went missing.

Mr. Cat.

Muffin comes back. Meow, meow?=Who we work for then? Who paying us? Why you read this stuff? Say NO, I not pack. Wait a minute Muffin, we’re being hired by Jessica to find these people, they are friends of hers. Meow, meow?=Jessica? Why you not say so in first place. And she comes into the living room pulling my suitcase. Meow, meow=Start packing, you too slow, I already packed to go, I help you too, you always forget things anyway. I don’t always forget things…well, maybe sometimes. Meow, meow.= Ha, always forget, important stuff too. We hurry, they might have food. And we get to stay at that fantastic estate too, we just have to look after the cat.

Meow, meow.=No problem there, what his name? Mr. Cat, I say to her. Meow, meow.=I know he male cat, you say that, but what his name? Mr. Cat, I repeat to her. Meow, meow.=You be nice, I have name, he must have name too, what it is? I told you already, Mr. Cat. Meow, meow.=You really looking to get sore feet. Now wait Muffin, why don’t you ask him yourself when we get there, that’s a good way to introduce yourself anyway. Meow, meow.=Good thought, that what I do since you no help. Muffin thinks to herself, he must have hard name to pronounce and my human not want to admit it he can’t say it. Giggle. Soon we are on the plane heading to our destination. Should be a nice relaxing case at that beautiful estate…
