For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It’s such a beautiful morning today. Most of the leaves are fully out now. The sun is shining on those leaves causing them to glow a most beautiful bright green. It’s much nicer sitting on the deck this morning than it was yesterday. Sir George and Lady Pearl were both here this morning which means they now have young in the nest so it’s okay for both to leave at the same time. Sir George came down first, then Lady Pearl after he left. The crows are scared of Sir George, but Lady Pearl is smaller and since there are 7 crows they tried to push her off the feeder by sheer numbers. Sir George didn’t like that so he came back down and let the crows know he wasn’t too happy. That one crow lost some feathers that time. Then he stood guard while she ate, then he finished the remainder, so the crows lost out this morning. They learned a valuable lesson, leave Lady Pearl alone.
There is a vireo singing out here this morning, a simple but beautiful song. Then there is the phoebe still hiding in the bushes somewhere. A tree swallow is flying overhead looking for insects and chattering all the while. Time for another cup of coffee. Mmmm, that’s so nice. There is also a black-throated green warbler singing and another warbler that I can’t quite place a name on. An ovenbird is singing across the street, a small bird with a loud song. All the regular birds are at the feeders, goldfinches, pine siskins and purple finches. Plus a female hairy woodpecker comes all the time now getting sunflower seeds for her young. Oddly I haven’t seen the male around lately, I hope nothing has happened to him. That will make her job a lot harder.
And now for some nice bright flowers to enjoy…
In the above photo we have a beautiful Iceland poppy, which comes in 5 different colors that I know of, but my landlord only has 3 colors in her gardens.
And in the above photo is one other color of the Iceland poppy. There is also a bright yellow which I will show another time, just waiting for them to bloom. There we have our brightly colored flowers for today. I hope you all have a great day and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Technically I commented first, π€¨ my internet connection interrupted π§ π Beautiful pictures Steve πβ¨π sir George must be strong enough so these crow’s are afraid of them. They need someone to rule them, they are way too much in disturbing other birds. Did you check out birds of Paradise π Have fun watching β¨ Have a beautiful Sunday β¨ππ€

Sorry Simon, doesn’t count.ππ Thanks so much!ππΊ Sir George is too big to tangle with,πͺ twice the size of the crows, Lady Pearl is smaller though still bigger than the crows, but she won’t fight back when there is too many crows. Even with 14 crows they won’t take on Sir George!π²π² Yes, I wish these crows would leave, they are scaring my small birds, but there’s not much I can do to stop them.πΎπ It’s an amazingly beautiful morning!πππ I don’t want to be inside today! Enjoy your evening, relax a bit.ππΊπββ

Yes indeed, it has been fantastic! Seems to be even better this year than usual for some reason. Are things getting better over there with this virus? Hope you are having a great day also and thanks so much!ππΊπββ

Here the season is great! It is not too hot, it rains just enough and there are already fireflies and a lot of wild strawberries. It is simply wonderful!
The situation is improving and the virus seems to be gone. At least for now.
Have a wonderful day! βΊοΈ

You are quite a bit ahead of us, fireflies don’t show up here until later in June, that’s about when the wild strawberries will be ripe as well. But more and more butterflies are around now, they just won’t cooperate so I can get their picture! But hopefully soon I can get some.
Have a great evening!ππΊπ
