Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! The sun has been up for a while now, with just a few clouds around and it’s much milder this morning as well which is very nice. Sir George didn’t show up this morning, but Lady Pearl was here so I stayed close by until she had finished eating. She squawked her thanks as she left and I let the crows fight over the few remaining pieces of bread. The blue jays were here early this morning too, showing up right around 5. When I got up at 4:25 there were so many birds already up and singing, sounded so beautiful. However they were likely singing by 3:30 this morning. The long days of summer are so nice. The chipmunks were here early this morning, they don’t normally show up until 6, but this morning they were here about 5:15. Both Pocket and Skamper showed up almost at the same time. But they do have a short summer to prepare for a very long winter so it’s understandable that they would want to get an early start. The loons sound so nice early in the morning as they fly overhead laughing as they go. Plus another one, likely on the river, gives it’s long cry in response. Oddly I’m not seeing the loons on the river these days, but perhaps they move further downstream during the day when I’m down there. The song sparrow and white-throated sparrow are singing so nicely now and the phoebe has joined in as well. And while I get my coffee, let’s take a look at today’s pics…

In this first pic above we have an oddity, a light orange Iceland poppy. Since my landlord didn’t have any that color the bees must have been busy doing some cross pollinating to come up with a new color this year. Quite interesting to see this color which is half way between the yellow and orange ones.

Then in the above pic we have a common flower from chives. They really are quite beautiful and I managed to get some pics before my landlord cuts them all off. Well, I hope you all have a great Monday and God bless!

  4. Such welcoming flowers today ! My chives are about to open up…they are pretty…I use the chives in salads and chicken sandwiches…yummy…☕️☕️🙂🐿😺☕️☕️

    • Yes, chives are very good, I like it with rice and soup. But chives are toxic for cats unfortunately. Thanks Sharon, have a great day!😀😺🌞☕☕

    • Thank you Simon!😀 Yep, up later, up early and I was awake during the night for 1.5 hours.😳😳 It is so nice getting up early in the summer months😁 and hard to go to bed early when the sun is still shining!🤔🌞😴 I do anyway though usually because I would rather get up early.😜🤪😁 Enjoy your evening Simon!😃😺🌙

      • I can handle less sleep for awhile in summer,🙃 have always been that way,😁 though years ago I could do even less sleep than now.😄👍 Just need to remember it’s early to bed, but sometimes it doesn’t quite work out!🤔😳🙄 Guess you’re in bed now, hope you get a good sleep.😴 Talk to you Tuesday on Monday which is tomorrow today and yesterday all at once!😁😸😂😹🙄😵😵😛

      • I hope it’s peaceful, they just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for us again,😳 heavy rain,😬 strong winds😳 and ping pong ball size hail.😲🙀 Sigh. Might not get much sleep tonight.🤔🙄

    • Our summers are so short I want to enjoy as much as I can, so I get up early.😁🌞 Usually I’m up at 4 in the summer, but this year changed to 4:30. However I might be back to 4 until the end of June.🤪🙄 After all, only 8 days to go!🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️😬😟 Thanks Ribana, enjoy your evening!😀😺🌞☕☕
