For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone! It’s a rather cool, cloudy and wet morning here today. And since it was raining this morning I decided it would be better to stay inside and enjoy my coffee where I can be dry. I did take out food for Sir Charles, and then later for Sir George and Lady Pearl. Coffee, my new little chipmunk, was the first here for peanuts this morning, though Skamper was not far behind him. It took about half an hour and all the chipmunks were coming. They managed to haul away a lot of peanuts before Runner showed up and he didn’t seem to be happy about that. I noticed Skitter has found where Runner is living, or at least where he is hiding his peanuts. So Skitter goes in and comes out with peanuts and heads home with them. I watched him do that many times now, I just hope he doesn’t get caught.
I can just imagine Runner adding another peanut to his stash and saying to himself, “I’m hauling peanuts in here every day and that pile doesn’t seem to be getting any bigger, in fact, it seems to be getting smaller”. Makes sense, he can only carry one peanut, the chipmunks carry 3. So Runner is helping one chipmunk and doesn’t even know it. But, then yesterday I saw Coffee going in there and coming out with peanuts as well. So now, 2 chipmunks have found this amazing pile of seeds! But since Runner gives the chipmunks such a hard time, chasing them every day, it’s only fitting that this should happen.
Well, our flowers today begin with the ‘creeping bellflower’ at the top. It is similar to the harebell that we saw before but this is a garden variety that often escapes and joins the wild landscape. They are bigger than the harebells and need more soil to thrive than the harebells.
In the pic above is a miniature rose from my landlord’s garden. The flowers are generally about 1 1/2 inches (3.75cm) across. They are beautiful but lack any scent which is unfortunate. Well, that’s it for our pics today, I hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

Thanks again Eshal! I don’t name them, they’re already named! I have a book on wildflower identification, most garden flowers for my area I know since I have done a lot of gardening, I started when I was 14. I love anything to do with nature and have studied it a lot. Have a great day!

I was dead on time today, but when I saw Eshal had already liked the post, I knew all hope was gone for me commenting first. Oh well. I tried.

Good morning Ribana! I’m slow this morning again.π
That’s okay, Runner doesn’t need extra food anyway, he’s up all winter so gets food from me, but the chipmunks hide away all winter, so they need the extra food. Of course Runner doesn’t understand that part!ππΉπΏπΏ
Thanks Ribana, I hope your evening is going great!ππΈπ»

Question is…. who’ll stop the rain and are they even able to? π€π¬

But rain is good, who wants to stop it? Can’t walk in the rain if there’s no rain.π³β

Well… there are those that become accustomed to it and never find out how nice the sun feels.
Everything thing needs its balance I guess.
Too much sun and you never appreciate it, because it’s always there. π§

Coffee – I like the name. And I feel bad for Runner…

Not necessary to feel bad for Runner, after all, he gives the chipmunks a hard time, plus I’ll be here to give him peanuts all winter. But I will admit, I almost feel bad for him too. Almost.ππ

Yep, so true! And I see he just showed up for breakfast, don’t think there is anything left, so guess I better put more peanuts out!ππΉ
