Morning Coffee At Steve’s Country #21.

Good morning everyone on this the shortest day of the year! There’s a nice fresh pot of coffee ready, so please help yourself to a cup and sit back to relax for a few minutes with us. Muffin is bouncing around waiting for your arrival this morning. The shortest day of the year, after this the days begin to get longer once more. Not that it’s very noticeable for awhile yet, but it’s the thought that counts. It feels good just knowing that the days are getting longer. Of course it also means the days will be getting colder. That part doesn’t feel quite so good. But soon the days…um, well, not long from now the…um, well, eventually the days will be getting warmer. It might take awhile, but it will happen, hopefully. Seems like a long ways off though. Four months or so. Anyway, let’s forget about that part for now.

I wonder what happened to Theodore again? He came back that one day and he’s gone again. Very strange turkey that one. Maybe he doesn’t like the brand of sunflower seeds I use? Of course, my bird feeder is a bit small for such a large bird. He must be eating somewhere though, he certainly looked well fed. Oh well, it would take a lot of seeds to feed that turkey anyway, so maybe it’s best he only shows up once in awhile. I think more people are feeding birds this winter. That would explain the erratic behavior of the birds, why they are here one day and not the next. Oh well, we got a little snow overnight and we are supposed to get more tomorrow and Wednesday. That will really make things look more wintry for Christmas.

Both the hairy and downy woodpeckers were here a lot yesterday and they are all getting more brave all the time, so hopefully I can get more pics of them soon. The redpolls are also getting braver which is nice, I would like to get some close up pics of those little birds. There was even a hoary redpoll in with the common redpolls too. I am still trying to get a good pic of one so hopefully she will stick around. It was dark when I put the feeder out this morning and those ducks were flying down to the river already. Everyone trying to get the best fishing spots I guess. Time to get ready to go shopping, I hope you all have a very nice Monday and God bless!

  1. To tell you the truth that I give most of what I find as meat in my dish to the cats that we have and the dog of our neighbors .
    I prefer going mostly vegan because there are more than enough fruits and vegetables to nourish our bodies …

  7. Get some big shopping done… Lock down is due , 🙄 and Theodore must have got new friends hope it crosses nee year safe 😁 Hey did I mentioned that I like this cup… It’s nice one too,😍 looking forward to see that red one close….☺️

    • Yes, I think Theodore is safe now,🤔 but, things can still happen,😬 he needs to stay out of sight for just a little longer!🦃 Thanks, I have lots of different cups for my coffee! Have a great night Simon!😁😺🌙

      • Maybe you should show us one by one everyday ☺️☺️ I hate to keep more things in my kitchen, but I still loves the beautiful items.😍. Theodore should be safe, things can still happen😁 Christmas and new year is happening 😊

      • Yes, I think Theodore should be safe now, he came for his breakfast again this morning. It is so cold out there today, a very good day to stay inside and drink coffee! 😋😃😸☕☕☕☕☕☕

      • So cold 😳🤔 How cold, will there be white clouds or dark clouds when it snows 🤔 this snow ever fallen into your eyes? Was it cold 😳🤔😁 some crazy questions only you could answer 😁. Have a wonderful snow white day 😎

      • The clouds are dark when it snows. Yes, I have had the snow fall into my eyes a lot, not fun when that happens, too cold!🥶😂😹
