Coffee At Steve’s Country #28.

Good morning everyone! Time to grab a cup of coffee, sit back and relax here at Steve’s Country. It’s another cold morning, but not quite so bad, the temperature is -28C (-20F), but with the windchill it’s still down at -35C (-31F). Still too cold for me, but there are people who like this kind of weather. I’m not quite sure why, it’s too cold to do anything outside. But there are things to do indoors, so maybe that’s why they don’t mind the cold. We all have our likes and dislikes and personally, I’m a summer person. Muffin agrees with me, she’s a summer cat.

Here we have the “delphinium” on an early summer morning.

So today our pics are some beautiful reminders of that warm weather that is ahead of us. This is our last cold day for awhile so hopefully I can walk down to the river again. We have had 5 inches of fresh snow since the last time I went down there and there has been no one walking down that path since that time. Five inches isn’t much snow, but it’s soft, loose snow so you don’t get a good solid grip when walking. So I will need to be a bit more careful on those hills back there. I imagine the river is frozen along the part where I walk.

And here we have the “bearded Iris”.

Closer to the dam it will still be open water, and from the dam back to the lake it is still open water as well. So all the ducks will be down closer to the dam as well. Walking over that way would add some distance to my walk, so that would make it a little harder, and no benches along that section of the path to sit and rest. There are 2 benches the way I usually walk. It’s nice to sit and relax for a bit and enjoy the scenery, even if those benches are cold. I’m starting something new today, a new post, called Steve’s Bird of the Day. I will post a new bird pic each day from Monday to Friday. It will just be a photo with a brief explanation of the photo, not something long like this post, just one or two sentences. Well, I do hope you all have a wonderful day and God bless!

Steve and Muffin.

  1. Greetings Steve and Muffin! Enjoying some coffee (cup #3) as well. For central Ohio, the late January morning feels more Arctic than usual with wind chill in the single digits. A few snowflakes remind me of the coming weekend winter storm. Hmm, my snow shovel might just be getting excited!

    • Good morning Richard! This cold is going a long ways south. That is something we have been missing this winter, is snowstorms, we just get small amounts at a time which is unusual, 10 to 15 inches at a time is more normal! Not that I really miss all that shoveling.πŸ˜€πŸ˜Ίβ˜•β˜•

    • It’s people that put the benches out😁 and no one has put any along that other path since there is no nice spot to sit and view the river along that part.πŸ™„ It is a beautiful sunny day to watch the birds outside from the warmth of inside! Enjoy your Friday Simon!πŸ˜πŸ˜Έβ˜•β˜•πŸŒž
