Morning Coffee Time #55. Games And More.
Good morning on this beautiful sunny Wednesday! Just grab a cup of coffee and enjoy some relaxing time with Muffin and I! Poor Muffin had an upset tummy this morning. I hope she hasn’t been eating mice, or voles, again. So right now she’s sleeping, curled up on my lap. The feeders are quite busy this morning and when the chickadees showed up at 7 they were busy singing their spring song. I have only seen two blue jays so far and they have been busy hauling away peanuts. Yesterday, after my morning post, the evening grosbeaks showed up and quickly finished off most of the sunflower seeds on the feeder. The redpolls were happy, going through all the shells afterward eating all the little pieces left behind by the grosbeaks. So everyone gets something to eat.
Time for more fun with games: The Game Of Bird Watcher. I like this game, it just seems to be a natural choice for someone like me. It is a fun and interesting game though it had a very short game life. Apparently it only managed to last one year from what I could find out. Many of these old games were only out for one or two years because they just didn’t sell enough for a game company to keep them going. Only a few of the hundreds of games produced over the years were popular enough to carry on for years. With this game you use the spinner to travel around the board in any direction you want while you try to collect as many bird cards as you can. Some of the bird cards are shown on the board. However, it’s not that simple, you can lose a turn or get bumped to the beginning again and there are several other interesting plays that allow you to take more than one card, or even lose cards. Each bird card is worth points, some more than others, the one with the most points once all the cards are gone, wins the game.
Lex, the Crossword Card Game. This is similar to Scrabble, but played with card letters. The first person plays a word, then each word played thereafter must be joined to another word already on the table. Each letter has an assigned value of points which are added together. It can be played in different ways, the main game says to play words of 2, 3, or 4 letters. It is possible to add letters to a word to make it longer in another turn. There are two piles of extra letters so if you can’t make a word you put one letter back on one pile and take a letter from the other pile, and lose your turn. The person with the lowest score at the end wins the game. The game came out in 1936, this one is from 1938. There we have our games for today, have a great day everyone and God bless!

Ho ho Muffin, what happened to you? Take care little doll… Take care of yourself too Steve, Both are completely different game but lasted only for a shorter period. A period of invention and creativity š. You all had the great opportunity to explore varieties of games, here we are seeing copy cats everywherešš. Oddly the tooth came out fairly easily. Afterward he gave me his cell number in case there’s any problems tonight. I’m not sure if that makes me feel good or not.š¤š

Oh, right, eating. I don’t have much that is cold and soft, which is all I can eat for 24 hours. Maybe I could let my cereal go soggy, that would be cold and soft.š¤š

How come when I don’t want my cereal to get soggy it does in record quick time, but when I want it to get soggy, it stays crunchy??š¤šš

Amazing. Simply amazing. That’s what I need, a heated pool out on the deck. I looked up a heater for heating water, but it said not to use in a wet environment.š¤š
