For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning and Happy Saturday everyone! The coffee is ready and it’s a beautiful day with all that sunshine and blue sky and…well, there was sunshine and blue sky before the sun rose. Now it seems to be mostly cloudy. But it is supposed to be sunny and warm today, 46F (8C) for a high today. Then it kind of cools off again tomorrow. There we go, the sun is sort of shining again, very nice indeed. Right Muffin?
Hey, you don’t look very happy today. (you not tuck me in, so can’t go sleep) Well, I did try, but look at my hand. (wow, 10 bandaids, almost new record) Um, yes, well, that’s why we stopped the tuck in. (you gave me big shock, that not nice) You were lying on a wool blanket, it happens sometimes. (sure, blame blanket, but it me that sad) You scratched my hand, blood was dropping everywhere. (Muffin looks…yep, that was a good one) See? Now you’ve got a big smile. (um, rats, caught me) Come up here and curl up with me. (okay…with big smile, move over) You already have half the chair. (I like to stretch when I sleep) Here, how’s that? (better…snore) That was certainly fast. I was outside early this morning putting food out and I could hear Theodore calling, but I just couldn’t make out what direction it was coming from. I turn around and there he comes walking up the steps talking away.
Hi Theodore. Gerbil, gerbil. I see you survived the winter okay. Gerbil, gerbil. Yes, there was some cold weather, but most of the winter was nice this year. Gerbil, gerbil. That’s true, I do have a warm place to live and you’re outside all the time. But turkey’s are used to that. Gerbil, gerbil. Oh, no one warned you about how cold it would get or you would have moved south? It’s not easy to migrate, especially for wild turkeys. Gerbil, gerbil. You haven’t found a mate yet? I’m sure you will. Gerbil, gerbil. The only other turkey is another male? Hmm, that could be tough, you might have to travel around a bit to find a mate. He looks at me with silence. Gerbil, gerbil. Yes, that’s true, time for breakfast. Up he goes to the feeder and I come back inside. Busy morning. Quite a few redpolls around this morning too, seems to be getting more each day. Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Hi Simon! Yep, when Muffin gets a shock, she attacks my hand!π² Not even my fault,π it’s the wool blanket. (sure, blame my blanketπΎ) You’re supposed to be sleeping. Yep, Simon beat you today! Actually I smash them with a hammer, goes fast that way, well, I don’t hit them too hard or the pieces get too small. Really helps the nuthatches, they have such a hard time opening the seeds.
Thanks so much, have a great day!ππΊββπ

Hi Steve, Thanks!
Thanks, it is snowing quite a bit today, but no strong winds as forecasted. Fortunately, the snow is not sticking on the roads, but if it continues during the night as forecasted, the roads will probably be slick tomorrow. The temp is suppose to be in the high 20βs during the night. It is definitely not as bad as expected. π They are now saying up to 8 inches of snow, not 20. βοΈ Funny though, just like last year, my tulips are starting to come up. π±. Oh well, I covered them with plastic and hope they survive. π So glad you all have beautiful weather today. π
That is great on Theodore. π¦ Yes, the chikadees are amazing little birds. I have been reading about them. Thanks, have a nice evening as well.ππ

Wow, that’s a big drop in the amount of snow, but nice to hear! Hard to imagine, tulips growing in March. Hope they survive okay for you.π·
Yes, nice here, but going down to around 8 tonight and only mid 30s tomorrow, back to mid 40s on Monday and now they are saying it will stay like that all week which will sure be nice. Perhaps the snow will be all gone by the end of the month this year, that would be so nice!ππ
Thanks Beverly!ππΈπ

Yes, is a big drop. Thanks! Very nice, although the alert is saying heavy snow until tomorrow night. βοΈ We will see… I could not believe how the store shelves were cleared out completely on certain food items due to the anticipation of a bad storm. I am sure a lot of people are relieved the storm downgraded. Odd though, lost power in the house for a few minutes as I was typing this. I am sure it was something else.
Yes so odd on the tulips π·. I wish I could control when they start coming up from the original bulbs I planted. That is the problem, we usually get hit with snow in March. Thanks! π. I hope they survive.
Wow, dropping down to 8 there during the night. That would be extremely cold to everyone here, but you have experienced worse. Hope the mid 40βs continue next wee to melt the snow by the end of the month!

For some reason I have lost my internet twice today, it’s been happening quite a bit lately, not sure why, but it slows me down when trying to answer comments. Sigh.π
Yep, 8 is actually a normal temp for March, usually we would be getting high temps of 15 or 20 this time of year, so this is nice getting up into the 40s.πππΈ
I don’t know what the problem is,π€ I have it set up so that a new comment will be held in moderation until I approve it, then after that it should come through okay. But for some reason it’s not working for you.π³ Very strange, but that’s the way things work with me.ππΉSorry about that!

Odd on your recent internet outages. π€. Hope it rectifies itself. The power went off throughout the whole house twice here within 15 minutes. It was strange. It happened a couple weeks ago and stayed off an hour or so. Not good, as I do work from home which started about two years ago. All of my work is done on the computer using WiFi.
Wow, that is cold for March, but you did say you have long winters. It would be nice for you all to have an early start on warm weather this year. π
Itβs okay. I threw your account a curve ball trying something new with Word Press. π Hopefully, it will work itself out. Thanks! π

Thanks! The wind is the biggest issueβ50 mph. In the 30βs here as well, but as you know, it feels colder with the windchill factor. π₯Ά. The snow is steadily coming, but making mainly drifts with that wind. βοΈβοΈ We are suppose to have additional accumulations up to 7 inches. Thanks for the prayers. π They still say it will be over by midnight.
Glad it will be warmer for you all during the week. ππ

No it’s here, I’m just slow approving it. For some reason all your comments are suddenly being held back until I approve them, don’t know why. That’s only supposed to happen for a person’s first comment, not all of them. Just started when you changed your name.

During the time our weather was colder, we had the same thing happen with Callie. We would pet her and zowie, she got zapped! It scared her but she didn’t get mad, at least not right away. She has her ways of getting back at us. π¬
