For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! It’s snowing this morning and cool, the temp is staying right around the freezing mark. The snow is melting on the streets so far, starting to build up on my deck, but only about an inch. Seems the main part of that snowstorm is missing us. Which is okay with me. I’m late this morning because I had to go shopping. And it’s snowing. On April 12th. Actually that really isn’t unusual, it just seems like it since we had such an early spring. So you don’t expect it to snow. But it always does happen. We can get snow like this in May. Quite often. Oh well. Just means I get to stay inside and clean today.
But because it’s snowing I decided that some nice bright and cheery summer pictures were a good thing to have today. I have probably shown these flowers before, but I don’t think I have used these particular pictures before. Besides, they’re bright and cheery. I think that perhaps I may have come up with an idea to beat Bert and Bouncer. I named the big one Bouncer, just seemed to fit his size quite nicely. I used to have a deer which I also named Bouncer, he was a 12 point buck and also the biggest deer I have ever seen. He was far bigger than any of the other bucks around at the time, which included two 8 point and a 10 point buck, plus some younger bucks and does. Anyway, that’s for another story.
So this bear is also named Bouncer. Though I don’t plan on getting friendly with this one like I did with Bouncer the deer. Not a chance. I have seen his teeth and claws. People tell there’s nothing to worry about, bears run from people. That’s true. But they omit one very important word, bears “normally” run from people. Notice the difference. I’m going to write a bit about bears in another post. They are interesting wild animals. Notice how I put the word “wild” in there. Oh well. I just have to remember to bring my feeders inside “before” it gets dark. I put another important word in there. That one’s for me. Because I keep forgetting that important point. Sigh. I think Muffin needs to write another post so she can talk about these things. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Nature balances itself out . We have had very warm weather here last week only to get cold now and start raining while snowing on higher altitudes like 1200 meters high or 4000 feet high …
Animals are very passionate and loving once they know you well and they are treated well … The cats here sometimes touch my hands with their heads when I give them food …

Yes, and nice that it does or things would be bad. Yes, animals get to know who they can trust and will become very friendly. However, wild animals are still wild and can turn on the people that have become their friends. So it’s necessary to always be watchful, especially with large animals.

Hi Steve! Glad the main part of snow storm missed you. Also glad you came up with a solution for Bert and Bouncer. Still believing! Also, some of my tulips survived the snow here, they are about to bloom! Have a great day! πβοΈπ

Hey, nice to hear your tulips will bloom! Another month at least before any tulips will bloom up this way. Yep, now I just need some dry weather to get my idea done out there! Have a nice evening Beverly!ππΊπ¨π¨

Thanks on the tulips! Yes, I was excited, but do wish they would wait until May to bloom. Hoping you get that dry, warm weather soon to get your idea done! Hoping we get rain instead of the snow predicted here this week to help with the lawn and flowers, we will see. Thanks Steve, hope you had a nice evening as well! ππ§

By Thursday we should be back to sunshine again, though not too warm. That’s okay, sunny and dry is the important thing to get my feeders fixed up. You’re supposed to get snow too? Snowing here again today, though not much at the moment. Have a great day Beverly!ππΊββπ¨π¨

So true Steve! The weather always seems to get the biggest laughs. As you point out, we should remember to use some healthy respect the “wild” in wildlife. In one of my recent nature walks, I came across with a mature whitetail buck. He quickly left me.

Yes, the wild animals are beautiful and I probably take too many chances, but I’m always watchful for signs of trouble. Yes, weather is unpredictable at best and we always can count on getting snow in April, and usually May too, sometimes even June!

Well, this isn’t climate change, though that is real, this is quite normal for us, even getting snow in May and June is normal for us.
