Saturday’s Solitude #5.

Good morning everyone! It’s a beautiful spring morning once again. It was so nice to go out and feed Sir George this morning and it actually felt very mild for a change. Didn’t even need to wear a jacket, back to where we were a week ago which is so nice. The sun is shining through a veil of very thin clouds but still bringing with it the warmth we need up here once more.

There is a fairly strong southwest wind bringing the warmer temperatures to us. So I decided to take a chance and sit on the deck with my coffee for a while. A perfect summer morning activity. Without activity. But I just can’t waste all these beautiful mornings sitting in the house. Summer is just too short up here. When I say summer, that includes spring and fall as well, basically our snow free season, which isn’t always snow free as we found out this week.

It was so nice though, listening to the birds singing in the distance. There was a house wren, white-throated sparrow and a chestnut-sided warbler singing close by. All others were further away. What a difference, usually there are a lot of birds singing close by when I’m feeding birds. The crows, blue jays and a hairy woodpecker were here for breakfast too.

That hairy woodpecker has discovered something. If there are no peanuts out, he chirps nice and loud and I come and put more peanuts on the step. He is getting quite friendly. Pocket is the only chipmunk that comes around regularly now, and I don’t see him every day. I do miss those chipmunks. What a difference from last year when all 5 chipmunks would be crawling over me within a couple minutes of sitting out there. Now I can sit out there for half a hour and not see a chipmunk or a squirrel.

That light cloud has disappeared and the sun is shining so brightly now. The robin has suddenly stopped singing, must be out looking for breakfast now. An eagle flew past, just above the trees. It is such a beautiful, calming and relaxing kind of morning. A morning to enjoy, slowly. Today’s pics are just a selection of morning pictures from around the area. Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless!

      • You’re welcome Steve! I am so glad you have had a great day! Thanks, mine has also been wonderful! So I mowed the grass and did all the lawn work including sweeping of the driveway because of all the catkins that were blown off my huge oak tree in the front yard and guess what? A thunderstorm hit which included a bad hailstorm that went on and on. I protected some flowers I just planted which was great. However, a great deal of the huge leaves from my oak tree and all the neighbor’s trees are now all over our yards, the driveways, the street. Oh well, I be out there again on Monday. πŸ˜‚. No problem, I love being outside and we all talk to each other as we are working in our yards. Such a blessing!πŸ˜β˜•οΈπŸŒžπŸŒ·πŸŒΌ
