Saturday’s Solitude #6.

Good morning and Happy Saturday everyone! Such an amazing morning to be sitting on the deck enjoying my coffee. The chipmunks are here filling up with peanuts. They have such amazingly quick actions, always on guard for danger, which means watching for squirrels. The squirrels don’t come much anymore, except for Jasper and Jasmine. I think Jasmine has earned herself a reputation among the other squirrels, and they don’t want to tangle with her anymore.

Jasper just makes sure he comes when Jasmine isn’t here, and if she shows up, he leaves in a hurry. Baxter was here for a while and managed to get some peanuts. Only one gull was here this morning and that was Sir Charles. Because of the earlier daylight now I’m missing the other gulls. They don’t use clocks, they go by daylight, so they show up early, before I’m out of bed. So they miss out on their breakfast some days. Sometimes they stay around long enough to get breakfast however, like yesterday. The cedar waxwings were here again this morning, but unfortunately they stay so high in the trees there is no opportunity to get pictures of them.

This is Pocket.

It was a beautiful day yesterday with a high of 95F (35C), and today it’s supposed to be 90F (32C). It gets just as warm in my apartment as outside, but for some reason it feels much worse inside. But it did cool down to 77F (25C) by this morning, which is not so bad. I don’t have air conditioning, due to my health I just can’t handle it. I’m still not sure why it feels so hot inside, yet the same temp outside is just fine. Probably a reason for that. Or maybe I’m just strange. I’ll go with that one.

I put up my odd looking plastic jug feeder yesterday. Didn’t get any birds, but Jasmine found it quickly.

But I am enjoying this heat anyway, but it will be short, after tomorrow it cools down a bit to more normal temps for this time of year. Sir Henry was just here for his breakfast, always nice to see him come around. Jasper was just here as well, then Jasmine came back. Jasper is staying just ahead of her as they go through the trees. I didn’t think she would chase him so far. Hmm, she stopped and Jasper is chattering his complaints. Meanwhile, Pocket and Coffee finished the remaining peanuts. It’s quiet this morning, not even much singing from the birds, that part is just so odd. A loon flies over laughing as he goes. Now that signifies wilderness and solitude. Such a beautiful morning.     • Good morning Nina! Yes, loons are that way with me, always gives me a picture of a little log cabin by a lake, quiet solitude at it’s best. So beautiful here these days, hard to believe it was just last week we had snow! I hope you have a most wonderful weekend Nina! Muffin sends a hug to Mr. Cat!😀🖐😻🌞☕☕

  6. Well you got your hot weather ! Cooled off for sleeping which was a blessing from God ! …I can’t get over that Jasper runs from Jasmine ! He has to stand his ground ! The chipmunks are smart…usually…rest well ! ☕️☕️😎😺🐿🥜 loved the pics !

    • Yes, cool nights do help. Muffin isn’t enjoying this, a little too hot for her. It does get a bit warm inside. Jasper isn’t going to stand up to Jasmine, he’s too smart for that, he would get himself beat up too bad! Have a good night!😀😺☕☕🌞
