For a smile as wide as a country sunrise
Good morning to everyone on this wet summer Sunday! We had another nice day yesterday, mostly sunny and warm with a high of 90F (32C). Then the thunderstorms came in around 10pm and the last one came through at 5:30am. I don’t think that thunder and lightning ever stopped all night long. And I had to keep my windows closed most of the night so Muffin and I nearly suffocated. Muffin stayed under the bed all night. She does not like those thunderstorms. It’s quite nice now though still cloudy, with a light wind.

Muffin is now sleeping peacefully enjoying the somewhat cooler air. I imagine she was awake all night. Sir George was here for his breakfast, the only gull I have seen so far today. The blue jays and hairy woodpecker were also here getting peanuts, as were the chipmunks plus Jasmine and Jasper. Jasmine got here first and was happily munching on a peanut. Along came Jasper, he didn’t see Jasmine, but she saw him and just sat there watching until he got close enough.

Then, “Wham”, she was on Jasper so fast! Poor Jasper. He struggled to get away as quickly as possible and finally broke free and ran for his life! Jasmine stopped at the top of the stairs watching until Jasper was out of sight. Then she returned to munching on her peanut. Yesterday Grover came by with a huge beetle. “Nice beetle you have Grover.” Chack! “Oh, it’s for your mate who’s sitting on the eggs still. Good for you.” Then a chipmunk came so Grover grabbed a peanut and went up to the railing. He moved too fast and picked up an empty peanut shell.

He spits it out. Chack! “Oh, you lost your beetle too?” Chack! “Your mate really wanted a beetle?” Chack! “Oh my, it took you an hour to find that big fat beetle? Here, try a big fat peanut instead.” I toss it to him which he quickly grabs and off he goes. I’m sure his mate was happy with the peanut. It is amazingly quiet out there right now, not a bird singing anywhere. There is a chipmunk chipping right now, mad at someone. But no other sounds. Hmm, maybe that’s it, the thunder has begun again, another storm arrives. I hope you enjoy today’s flowers, have a sunny Sunday and God bless!
Steve and Muffin.

Yep, that’s right, never good to leave these things to the last minute. Here we don’t need to worry about the medicare part since we have it all the time anyway.

I can see where that would be helpful. But you have a long wait time for appts. Correct?
LikeLiked by 1 person
That depends on where a person lives. Some areas like here have a doctor shortage so it takes longer to get an appointment. Pre pandemic it would take me 2 weeks, now that has doubled.

Bigger centers though have walk in clinics, same day service. Here we go to ER for that if we can’t wait for a regular appointment. Last time I went to ER I only had to wait 5 minutes! But it can take a couple hours.

See that’s the part I don’t know about. I’ve asked doctors but they say they don’t have anything to do with it. It would seem that if they say I shouldn’t be working that would be enough. Weird!!π³

Here it has to be initiated from the disability side, then it gets transferred to the doctor, he fills out a form with all the particulars of the patient and why they think the person should not be working. I also had to see a specialist, he also had to fill out a form. But there was no problems. But up here each province has it’s own rules and types of coverage. Then there is a federal disability too which is next to impossible to get.

It is kind of. I was out for a walk once and saw some dark clouds coming, the birds were singing nicely, then suddenly everything was silent, like turning off a switch. Very eerie. Doesn’t happen for all storms, but for bad ones it sure does.

It was a good day, the plant is back to life, the leaf is green now, and so are the stems the plant looks a bit pale, it use to be dark green leaf, I will wait more a week to find out if there is some deficiency with the plants. π any idea? why plants go light green? π€
LikeLiked by 1 person
Your plant might need iron, that’s a common problem. Simple long term fix, add some rusty nails, 4 or 5 that are 5 to 7cm long to the top of the soil. But you might need a quicker fix to get it nice and healthy again, then you would need to get some potting type soil with chelated iron in the soil which the plant can absorb easily. DON’T give it iron supplements that people use or it will burn the roots. Does it get enough sun, another possible problem. Or…spider mites. Look under the leaves for specks of dust walking around. Solution=15ml of dish soap mixed in 1 liter of water, wash or spray the leaves. when dry, then rinse with plain water. Might have to do this again 3 days later to get newly hatched mites.ππ€

Thank you β€οΈπ Now I need to work on some iron and let me inspect for the little spider π§ it gets enough sunlight and all the other plants are looking good, except this one, after replacing the soil it looks healthy, still pale, so noe the iron should do its jobπ Thank you again βΊοΈπ this plant is going to bloom healthy π and that I wil make sure.

It will take a little time to get it’s color back too.π Do make sure to check for those spider mites though, they can kill a plant.π¬ That’s it, don’t give up on it!πππΌ

oh my gosh! I forgot to keep that rusty nails on the pot π sigh… I forget a lot these days.. got busy with coriander seed planting in a little big plastic plate π. I checked the plant, didn’t find any spider so far, but last time I saw the leaf had dent marks , it’s not there now with new leaf, hope it comes out well, I should keep that nails tomorrow. π

Just poke the nails into the soil a bit and let them do their work! Dent marks? Hmm, let me know if the new leaves have that too.π€ππΊ

No, the new leaves don’t have, I have not poked the nails I just buried it, there this another plant tht has this now, also it has that little spider tmrw mrng I have to take a look at it again with soap water plus not sure what to do with that leaves, and it’s pale green, for that I poked a rusty rod inside pot. Hope I’ll save both of them.πβΊοΈ

Oh oh, if you have a spray bottle, use that to spray the leaves, especially under the leaves. Soak them good.π§π§π§π§ once dry rinse with plain water.π Wait 3 days and do it again.π Check all plants, they might have the spider mites too.π€ They will eventually kill your plants if you don’t get rid of them.π¬π³
